Seized Flywheel

Sorry, I posted this initially in the media section... my bad. I bought an 07 G35S 6MT last August with about 40K on the odom (the 40k service was also performed). Clean ride, great performance, very happy... until I noticed there was a lot of clatter in the clutch. I was told it was a high performance system bla bla... I know, but something wasn't right. I've owned over 30 cars and this just didn't seem right. Turned away and told it was normal, I came back a week ago to learn I had a seized flywheel and the whole clutch had to be replaced due to a failed spring in the flywheel. They actually had to tear it apart with a crobar because it seized up. It was under warranty and covered. The entire clutch system was replaced including the slave cylinder, all fluids to the tranny flushed of course. Took the ride home a few days later and I didn't realize the way the clutch was "supposed" to feel... WOW what a difference.

Only problem... I had to take it right back because of the new defective slave cylinder.

Dealership is awesome, but I'm rather SHOCKED that this high performance verison of Nissan's cars is having this kind of problem. Anyone else out there come accross serious clutch problems prior to 53k?

I bought it used and can only blame the previous owner, but when I found out he had all the maintenance performed like clockwork, I was suprised to see this happen to an Infinity.

Maybe I just got the Friday car?

Seized Flywheel

I got my car back after a second time around due to a faulty slave cylinder that they put in with the new clutch. The bearing in the cylinder failed. Covered under warranty and I'm SOOOOO happy to experience this clutch system. It's like never before. I've been deprived ever since I bought it used. Now I'm like a 20's something with his first project car!!! I'm looking forward to some basic bolt on mods, but don't want to pay extra simply for a namebrand unless it's ABSOLUTELY the best fit and sound. The mark ups around the web and at the dealership are tremendous. I'm also looking for a decent dual intake system, but don't want the cold air system in the lower end of the engine compartment due to the rain in WA.

I'm looking to spend about 200-250 for the intake system and no more and a grand for the exhaust... any leads people? I don't want a raspy "coffee can" poorly done civic sound to my G... know what I mean? Looking for deep sound and throaty, but smooth. Any insight would be great.

Thanks
