Ram Air Intake system question
Ram Air Intake system question
I'm looking into getting a ram air system and ive narrowed it down to 2, wanted to see if anyone has any Pros/Cons on either or both.

K&N 69-7081-1TS Typhoon Silver Air Intake System

Neither of these are classified as RAM intakes. These are conical open air filter intakes and I wouldn't waste my money on either. Inside the engine bay open air intakes have been proven to lose power instead of gaining power. If you want a cool sound then do it. If not just change your drop in filters to K&N, it will give you more power. If you're serious about an intake I would look into the CAI. Stillen or Injen make the best ones as far as I can see.
Hope this helps, I would hate for you to waste your money.

The only issue to the CAI is where i live it does rain often and we do have snow about 3-4 months a year and i had a CAI in my 3rd gen eclipse before and i fried 2 motors because of water being sucked into the CAI. I think i have a Z-Tube already installed (i just got the car used earlier last week) but im looking for something to help with gas mileage while also giving me a little more power when needed.

I would look into this setup. It's pricey but unless you drive into a lake you won't have any water induction problems. I'm running the Injen Sp1997p and I constantly worry about hydro lock, but I'm in Texas so it's not so bad. The stock intakes on the G35's are setup to pretty much maximize airflow. If you want more power I suggest the drop in K&N filters. They are around 50 bucks each but greatly improve air flow and are cleanable.

BTW, V36's have so called "ram air" built in from the factory.
I know but no one from the V35 section gave me an answer and i know the engines are the same at the core

You'll probably still get more info there than here though. Maybe they're just trying to force you to search more. If it's an answer that's been discussed many times, that will often be the type of response you will get. Anyway, have you looked into a plenum spacer? You will stand to gain more there than with just an intake.
Absolutely not. I was just mentioning it for his V35. I would be surprised if they even do come out with one for our HR since the stock one is vastly improved from the previous generation's and has probably netted nearly all, if not all, the gains available there. I could be proven wrong, but that's my take on it anyway.
