make a g35 into a g37

I was driving and the thought crossed my mind where what happened if something catastrophic happened with the engine and say i either needed it rebuilt or a new engine. (hoping this doesn't happen for a long time ) would it make sense seeing i have a 07 G35x, to get the same VQ35HR or throw in the VQ37VHR? Just curious what people thought or just let the mod bug fly and get a built engine for future fun.

Engine managent would make it cost prohibitive. It would be more cost effective to mod the HR motor instead of a VHR swap.

Without a doubt.

Plus, I don't really think you'd gain anything by doing the swap. Torque remains the same, you just get to rev a tab bit higher; not exactly the most useful thing. For 99% of sedan drivers, you'd never know the difference between the two if you did a blind test.in the same car.

doesn't the VHR have about 30 more hp? (not sure where in the power curve it is). I think the ECU controls the VVEL, Whenver uprev finishes working on it, they will be able to set he vvel lift etc via software.
To go through that much effort, might as well put the titan VK56 in Cost around 9k? Think of that built with twin turbo!

You dont necessarily need the auto tranny, you can probably mate up the 6speed to it, all you need is the proper spacer and flywheel.

Also I was on the fence about doing either a vk56 or lsx swap, and I went with an lsx swap. Theres just too much aftermarket and support, the vk56 doesnt even come close plus the manifold is too high.

Supposedly uprev is gonna do a vk swap on a racer, well see how well that goes. Rich claims you'd be able to retain the dash and gauges unlike the ls swap. Guess ill have to wait and see!

Would't you get more hp and tq by doing an overbore and high comp light weight pistons than a g37 swap at a fraction of the cost? Go sleeves and really push the bore.

You can retain the dash by using both the nissan and gm pcm in an ls swap if you plan to go that route.
