DIY Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaning MAF

This is a DIY on how to clean out a dirty MAF, I was experiencing some bad hesitation and throttle response. And this definitely help out a lot. And this should also be a regular thing to do every 10k or so. Lets get started..

First you will need a Can of CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner.


Locate your MAF


Remove the 2 Small philips heads


Pull out slowly and it should look like this, and there is a tab you will have to separate it form.


Once removed BE VERY CAREFUL DONT TOUCH the little parts inside the MAF if these get damaged you will need to replace the Sensor this is were you will use your can of CRC MAF Cleaner I shot it about 8 times.


Once done with both of them let dry for 10-20 min then reinstall, and your done

Good DIY ! Did you get any problems after installing them back on the car ? Like high idle, check engine light, shudder or things like that ?

No problems what so ever, it actually solved problems i was having rough shifts at 2 and 3 and it fixed it while it also is giving me better MPG readings and my MPG went up form 18 to 20 on a G35X

Fixed your 2 to 3 shifts you say? Hmm I really gotta do this one of these weekends.
