I have a 2007 G35X with a U1000 code, my 1st 2nd and 3rd gear all shift weird, but the rest are fine. I’ll attach an image of what the code says, any possible fixes would be greatly appreciated, as I don’t want to ruin my transmission.
U1000 means one of the computers is malfunctioning, there's 7-8 different computers, any of them could cause that code.
Since you're having transmission shift problems it's probably the TCM. Start by cleaning the TCM ground wire. On your timing chain cover in the middle, at the top, you should see two wires grounded out on two green bolts. Unbolt, wire brush, apply electrical anti-oxidation grease, bolt them back on, see if it fixes the problem.

Is this the ground you’re taking about? Or is it a different one further down?

Was this issue ever fixed ? I’m in same boat but mine won’t shift past 3rd and no gear indicator on cluster.
