You don't need to add components to the base system...just add a sub and it'll sound good...

has anyone changed the interior speakers?
with the door speaker being a 10" speaker i find it rather difficult to just swap it out for another 10"
If anyone has swapped out the speaker did you use a 8" speaker or a 6 1/2 component set?

 

hey gang, long-time lurker, new g-owner, 1st time poster.

so here goes:

being an music fanatic and eager to upgrade the bose stock on my 07 G35S, I surfed crutchfield using the 350Z (since they didn't/don't yet have the 07 researched for component speakers) to find component speakers and then bought the JL Audio ZR650's at ebay with 25% live cash back. I didn't realize they were for the rear, but they were a steal, so I'll put those in the rear doors. I have a pair of Infinity Reference 1021t on order for the front doors, along with Infinity Ref tweeters. I plan to power this with the Rockford Fosgate 4-gauge Amp Kit. I'm also putting in the Kenwood KOS-V1000 Controller.

I got the doors off easily, thanks to the DIY'ers out there for posting pics.

So, will this setup work? what else will I need?

This is my plan ... sure as hell hope it works. suggestions are welcome!

 

i successfully added 3 way comps to my G35 with SOW, my old set up consist of DLS Iridium 8 inch midbass, 3 inch Brax Matrix midrange and 2 inch Brax matrix tweeter on the A Pillar. Sounds really good and a big improvement over the SOW. I am currently redoing the whole system, the reason is that I am trying to become a dealer of a new brand amp, so my new set up will consist of Alpine F1 3 way system for the front and 2x9 inch Scan Speak revelator subs, and the rest still secret hehehe, got to wait until next week when the whole car is done. We gonna have a Car audio meet(SQ) around Rowland Heights, Ca area on the 18th October, its gonna have bbq stuff, so if anyone want to demo the car feel free to come
