"Every car does that, its something to avoid lawsuits"

Absolutely False. There are many cars manufactured today that do NOT have lockout, this 'feature' is up to the manufacturer.

I feel I must set this straight, I think the fact that people are 'scared' to discuss this on this forum gives people the 'illusion' that this is some kind of 'Law'. It isn't!

If this forum wishes not to discuss, that's fine. But let's not lead people to believe this is a 'legal' issue. This is a 'forum' administrative decision. Let's not confuse the two.

You're right the forum's administration made a decision, it was based on the fact that that it is unethical to allow a discussion about disabling a safety feature and that the staff does not want members to believe that the site or its owner promotes unsafe driving practices. The warning screen at start up is the feature intended to avoid legal issues.

I respect the forum's position on this issue.
But these kinds of discussion actually help the site thrive.
Forums incite debate as well as provide useful information.
These discussions promote site traffic.
Your sponsors would encourage more threads and more responses.
And Infiniti representatives peruse sites such as these to gain insightful feedback from its loyal customers.

I understand the forum rules and safety issues.
A forum is most effective when it is less restrictive.

Let these discussions take place......and let us vent despite repeated discussions on certain topics.

I tried to let this thread run its course, but now it's closed. If you respected the position of the staff you'd have left this alone.

ChristianN has reflected exactly how we at G35Driver feel about this modification.
We don't like it, haven't allowed it, and won't allow any discussion of it...period.............and we don't need any arguments or silly comments about it either........
Get with the program.....It's the way it is..
