RPM question??????
Just got my '07 G sedan 5-speed Automatic.
On the freeway at around 75 MPH in 5th gear, the engine revs at around 3.
Is this normal?
I'm sure it is. I'm used to driving an Acura that drops the RPMs down to about 2 at 80 mph.

Yeah I figured so.
The good thing about the high rev is that the engine has plenty of instant available whiplash torque to pass any 55 mph left hand lane dwellers.
Quite a change from my Acura CL Type S, where I had to pedal the medal to downshift to tap the available torque.
lol yea my older brother has a 03 acura cl type s..its a fun car but nothing compared to my G haha if i wanted to pass someone id have to floor it lol. but the vtec engine sounds Sweet haha

I put 180K miles on it and it drove like a champ.
The Honda Vtechs are quite durable.
I fought off the temptations of test driving a new vehicle since mine was still running in great shape.
I witnessed new models creeping up in HP.
Even the Honda Accords were reaching 240 HP.
The kicker came when I read specs on the new 2008 Accord slated to have 268 HP.
That was it.
There is no way I could let a family of four in an Accord sedan beat me off the line on the way to Sunday church mass.
Enter the "G"........

To tell you the truth though, the acura tl is only a more luxurious version of the accord. The tl and accord are both front wheel drive sedans. When I think of a tl I don't think about performance. It can't compete with rear wheel or all wheel drive performance sedans like the G35, Lexus IS, or BMW 3 series... Acura needs to get serious if they care about performance and change the tl to rear wheel drive or come out with a new sport sedan that is rear/all wheel drive. The Altima and Maxima are front wheel drive... They can both compete with a tl performance wise, the only advantage the tl has is luxury...
