Door Locks

Forgive me if this has been covered. I searched the site and searched the manual and couldn't find an answer.

Does anyone know why our cars do not have auto-locking doors; i.e. you reach 15mph and they automatically lock? My BMW had them, my wife's Jeep has them. I just realized the other day that my doors were not locking.

Ditto - makes me crazy that our Sequoia locks automatically.

I don't know why it doesn't have them, but it's a matter of preference. Some people like them, some hate it, some people think it's a security plus and others think it's a con.

Regardless, you can probably DIY using one of the kptechnologies modules. I don't think he has tested it on the 07+ Gs though, but it should be easy enough to implement. It basically ties to VSS and the locks and sends the signal to lock the doors when the vehicle starts moving at a certain speed.

I have that in my Benz and it never actually bothered me, and I think it's actually a good thing. On the other hand, that's a more integrated setup... the doors unlock after you open the driver side door, and in the event of a collision or rollover it will automatically unlock all the doors. With some aftermarket hookup thing, it might not be that good of a plan...

I like the auto door lock feature when you can just pull the handle to open/unlock the door. with the G you have to unlock the door then pull the handle.

I hate that my G doesn't have auto lock doors. I have a lot of settings I can turn on and off, but this is the one I really want. My concern is not when I'm driving because after a year, it's a habit to lock the doors. I don't like my girlfriend driving my car and not knowing if she's in a questionable part of town sitting at a red light with open doors.

Agree. This is a sad omission from Infiniti...
This could have been easily done in software. Too bad.

My '06 FX35 didn't have it and my current '08 FX35 does not have that feature. Is it part of a package?
