Yes, DS mode burns more gas since it holds gear alot longer than regular "D" and also downshifts frequently.

Higher RPM's = More engine work = More gas.

Thanks a lot Chilibowl, that's what I want to clarify. I'm still in break-in period..so no aggressive driving for me. I just wanna learn about the diff. in gas consumtion in D vs. DS under normal driving.

For those who have air intake systems while driving in DS mode does your 2nd gear hold for a long time almost redline before 3rd or 4th?

Depending on how much gas you're giving it... it does that anyway... intake or not.
Anything more than halfway down on the accel pedal... second gear rips in DS mode, almost to redline.
