Alignment help at firestone!!!
Alignment help at firestone!!!
Hey guys. so a lot of you know i recently dropped my car, from a previous thread where I have pics. Anyways I went today to get the lifetime alignment done at firestone, like a lot of people have got on there G's. I went to three shops, and all said no they can't get my car on the rack because its "too low" This doesn't make sense because all you guys with eibach/h&r springs are just as low as me, and i know tons of other people have got the alignment done. What do I do?! any suggestions would help, did any of you guys have to deal with this problem?! Thanks in advance!

Find an independant alignment shop that specializes in alignments only is your best bet. Check with local car clubs or race shops to see where they recommend getting alignments done, it will be more expensive, but they usually have the equipment to work on lowered cars and will usually do a better job in getting the alignment set up properly, in my experience most firestones do poor work and just try to get the alignment numbers close to the specified range
Alignment.....!!
You don't list where you're from so it's difficult to tell you where to take your
G. Trust me Firestone isn't the only alignment shop in town. Most shops have a pit so you're not driving on a raised rack. Check around your area
and ask questions about alignment, most good alignment/brake shops have
a following........where people would rather go than Firestone!

tell them to put some wood down in front of the alignment ramps....worked for every previous car I have owned.

Well, your first mistake is taking a G to Firestone. Kind of like having a gardener be your dog's vet.
Find a good independent that works on all cars, HP, sports cars, customs, etc. Experience alone makes a big difference in the mechanic you choose.
Granted, there may be local chain shop with experience on your kind of car, just hope it's the same mechanic working on yours.

So I am getting it done tomorrow, I will let you guys know how it goes!

Get a good mechanic that will give you a year, and bring it back every six months (which for the toothpick tie rods on the stock G) is a good idea anyway.
A good alignment from a pro shop over a chain can be well worth some $70+ a year.
