Same happends to me right now. But yesterday I changed the steering wheel. The only difference is that the lights turns on in a minute, if I drive. I recheck the wheel installation again and everything is ok. What can be?

Add my name to the list.

I have other toys that are truly fast. I treat my 08 G35x like the "taxi cab" that it is. All nannies are left on and I drive it for transportation.

Well, coming home the other day I took a 90 degree turn with some speed and the I experienced a tiny bit of oversteer.
The "VDC" , "SLIP" and "BRAKE" lights all came on and remained lit.
Turning off the car and restarting it got the lights to turn off.

Why did this happen and what is the fix?
I don't like the idea of the "safety nannies" might cease to operate with little notice.
(The "brake switch" needs to be explained more because it's not making sense to me right now.)

Also, the SLIP light comes on a lot and blinks and it feels like the computer is robbing power. I wanted a car that was "sporty" that didn't require constant vigilance like a Corvette or Viper.
I did NOT want a car whose computer emasculates what little ***** it does have.
I think when you tap the VDC button and the VDC stays lit, it should be breaking the tires loose on the 1-2 shift. I'm disappointed.

Well, my beautiful change of steering cost me $600. Damn it. The spiral cable was damaged during the change.

I know what you mean. I mean, I couldn't spend the money on a Vette, especially modding one, knowing that a sport bike is just way faster. Sure a Vette is fast, but having your nuts torn off whenever a bike wants to play with you? Emasculating...

I agree that a 1000cc bike is more fun than any car.
But, I disagree about skipping the Corvette unless you NEED a sedan and/or you NEED AWD for cold and wet weather. The only car I would drive if I lived in Texas, CA, or FL would be a C6 Corvette. It's well worth the $40k for a new one or $30k for a used one and there is NO WAY I'd choose a RWD G35 over the C6. Wait till you can pay off the difference between a G and a C6 and THEN buy the bike. That's what I did. But, I NEED AWD so I drive the G35x daily.

Yes, bone stock C6 Corvettes (non ZO6) are running 11.7@120, add a cam & headers for 10.8@127 or go with forced induction instead for 9.9@140 with only the addition of an ECS Paxton or Turbo Technology TTi-X.
So, yes. I agree a new 1000cc bike is more fun. But the Corvette is hard to beat with 4 wheels.

I need AWD for a daily driver though, so it's a g35x for now. Maybe a GTR in a few years if they are proven to be reliable and the prices come down.
In the meantime, the G35x really falls on it's face between shifts and is constantly robbing me of power when it thinks the tires "might" slip.
This is unacceptable to me and I hope someone starts tuning these cars so I can improve the performance. I hope to have the car tuned on a dyno soon.

Who does tuning mods for the 07+ G35x?
How about dyno tuning in the Phiadelphia area?

My SLIP light comes on a lot when I'm making sharp rights around town and get on it a little too soon

But about breaking the tires loose on the 1-2, despite the 306 horses, it's not all harnessed (partially due to automatic tranny) during the upshift so its pretty difficult to break loose tires beyond first gear. I was reading an article about the IS-F and the editor was pretty shocked that that car was able to chirp the tires in the 1-2, he attributed it to a great transmission (the 415+ HP don't hurt either!)

Mark me down for this issue as well (Brake/VDC/SLIP). I'm going to start with asking them to replace the brake switch and I'll let you all know how it goes.

I'm back to report that it wasn't due to the brake switch. I was low on break fluid, as soon as they added more... no issue.

Cool Vdc & Slip Light

I had this happen on my 05 G35x before I upgraded to the 08.

VDC & SLIP light stayed on and freaked me out. Turns out it was just low brake fluid. I had done all 4 rotors and pads myself and everything was new, but the fluid needed topping up after the job and I didn't check it.

Low fluid will put on those lights. When I topped it up, all was well and they never came back on again.

Good luck!
