I've had the TSB applied - the one refrred to here - 028A. I haven't felt that "bog" or jolt, but I haven't driven in too much traffic lately. I would feel it on occassion as described bu others 2nd - 3rd gear at about 35-40 mph in traffic when taking my foot off the accelerator - when in stop n go trafic conditions. Really not sure if the TSB application did it. But as we all know: This car is run by computer chips. Throttle by wire , electronic trannys, etc. And the Computer drive chips "learn' and adjust to the style of driving. I'm convinced that has a lot to do with it. I have associate who is always tinkering with his Porche computer cchips with reflashes - he in fact has applied software adjustments that puts a :governor" on the speed when his son takes the car !!
My tale about the 2005 Altima SL (v6) that had this condition bad was never fixed. I wrote elsewhere on this forum that my mechaic felt it was the Torque Converter not the tranny which was replaced. i think it was the electronics I mentioned above.

Is the 028a different than the 045 that I received, or are they different versions of the same firmware?

If you search this Forum, the TSBs are different versions since one is applicable for cars with the ICC (the special Cruise Control system). My car still "slams" into 3rd gear in certain situations using the DS in manual mode. It seems it's a quirk that I am going to live with. I had the 028 TSB applied. It helped with the touchy accelerator, but you will read not everyone is happy with the change. I do feel it is ever so slightly hestitant now, but less of a surge when driving in traffic situations. Again, this is the day and age of driving electronic cars.

I have 2008 sport 6MT. I have had it for 3 months now. (2000 miles) I feel the "bog" also. At first it was annoying as hell. But I am learning to live with it. I try to ease the throttle slowly it is less noticeable.

I have also felt the lurch when I accelerate hard. I always thought it was the VDC because i see all these lights come on for a second in the dash. I havent tried accelerating hard without VDC yet. I guess i'll try it one of these days. This is my first real wheel drive car I am trying hard not to fishtail it.

Ill have a talk with my dealer and see if they can do anything to mitigate the problem.

I seem to experience the same thing in reverse. Get on the gas and it winds up slowly then kicks, almost like turbo lag. It's not the automatic transmission downshifting.

Does everyone else get that? Can it be fixed with an ECU update?

I have the same lurch in my 2008 6MT(<1000miles). Most noticeable in 3rd between 2k and 3k. No matter how gingerly I let off the throttle it still jerks.

It may be that the TCM /ECU is in a new "learning mode". I now have a 2010 G37X, with the 7AT, man, you wnat to feel hesitation, jerkiness, try that car. Infiniti ruined the driveability with the 7 AT tranny.

Once you disconnected the battery, the ECU is now reset. As others on MyG37. com forum have told me about the 2010 - reset the ECU and then Drive It Like You Stole It.... Drive it hard. That may make a big difference in the Learning curve.

I really noticed it AFTER I cleaned my throttle bodies. It was more noticeable that is... dealership told me it was normal for my 07 g35s 6mt.

And just to clarify. I'm not talking about engine braking. And this isn't under hard acceleration. Best scenario would be when I'm driving in heavy traffic, and I'm rolling along in 3rd at a constant speed and let off the accelerator to slow down (no braking involved).

Anyone else having the same issue?
