LOL ok, just to warn you, folks here frown upon street racing.

BTW, the weight the difference between a base car and a loaded Sport Automatic G35 is more than 35 pounds. The G35 6MT weights 3,532 lb. on base form. That is without premium package. Now, a Sport Automatic with Premium package is gonna weight more than 35lb. in difference. Magazines have them close to 3,600lb.

My car is really strip out. No Sunroof, no adjustable power telescoping steerin, no heated seats, 17 inch rims, no CD changer, etc...

Even if it was more than 35 lbs, lets say 80 lbs, that wouldnt justify 2 car lengths. If your G35 is slightly faster than another G35, who cares?

I just got a loaner and noticed that it was faster.. then i noticed that the car had been averaging 17 mpg.. People were probably just beating the hell out of it.

Well, I know I'm not crazy. I know the car was definitely quicker off the line. But either way, I'd still take my S with all available options and be slower

1. It's probably broken in.

2. G35's are adaptive in their throttle response mapping, and the loaners tend to get beat on, especially with customers who have older model cars. As such, the throttles get mapped to be more sensitive/touchy, and feel faster.

3. They get beat on. See above.

4. They get beat on. See above.

i believe it. i have seen first hand the difference between an agressively driven car(mine) and a conservatively driven G (6mt). 3mph difference and almost half a second difference in the 1/4 mile. (he had identical 60fts).

in summary, the loaner is beat on more, the ecu adjust the maps for more power.

damnit where is technosquare and our reflash at. Our cars have alot of untapped power!

I just wanted to chime in and say, i have a fully loaded 07 sport with every available option including 4WAS, and the 08 Journey loaner I got did feel a touch faster. It jsut had an edge to it that I could feel. Im chalking it up to weight difference, but man I want the technosquare flash.

I don't care if my G is faster than other G's. The OP posted that he felt the car quicker and I thought it would be interesting to let you know about my experience. Anyway, his car is fully loaded and it is way cooler than mine so its not like I wouldn't prefer a Sport Loaded one.

By the way, he had a Stillen intake and his car has 24,000 miles, while I was carying a 160 lb. extra person and my car had only 2,000 miles on it. I know the numbers really don't ad up, but that is what happenned.

Take care.

Probably the driver then, because if you have an extra passenger at 160 lbs, and the other car is only around 68 lbs heavier, you're right, it doesn't add up. I would look into drivers. Everything else being equal of course.

kind of off topic but are there any known chips that modify the ECU to like maximum power output

Yes your loaner will be faster, just like Jason said "IT WAS BEAT ON"! Next time your diving down the street and you see a car doing 20mph over the speed limit, 9 out of 10 times its a loaner car. No one likes to beat up on there own car, thats why when you get a loaner you drive like you stole it!

i drive fast all the time, but.. my foot does seem to get heavier when im in a loner. i like to explore the rev limiter. see how fast i can go in reverse. i also do random brake tests to make sure every thing is in working order.
you know a brake stand is an effective way to test the brakes and the drive train at the same time.

what can we all learn from this?,
the 4000 miles that you see on ANY loaner or rental car are some of the hardest miles that a car will ever endure. Granted not every one beats on a loaner, but most people do
