Halfway through a four hour trip my ICC cut off and would not come back on. It was quite annoying to say the least. Any TSB out on it?

Is it possible ICC turns off automatically after 2 hours? Or was it raining?

I know an alarm beeps at 2 hours of driving in my Audi (doesn't have ICC) - it is a safety feature.

It was pouring down raining the whole ride. AND I did hear beeps which is wierd. I'm sure the quick fix would be to take a look at my manual, just haven't had time.

were you driving into the sun and getting a LOT of solar glare on the front of the car? If you were, that will shut off the ICC. It uses a laser so it will get "blinded" so to speak if you get enough sun on the front of the car. It happens to me on my way to work a lot. It is also spec’d in the Manuel for this to happen. Wait till there is no more solar glare, and turn the cruse control off then on.

oops didn’t read that it was raining. if the wipers are on full ( not intermittent) the ICC won't work. You can however use regular cruse control when it is raining.

Oh my, I really need to read my manual. The wipers were on full blast. But I had no idea you could use regular cruise control. How? I promise to read the manual before the year is out.

hahaha, will do thanks again for the quick reference. I'm just glad I don't have to take the car in to the stealership.

You should avoid using the cruise control (manual or ICC) while driving in adverse weather.

from the book

"To turn on the conventional (fixed speed)
cruise control mode, push and hold the
MAIN switch for longer than about 1.5
seconds."

the main switch is the on/off button on the wheel.
