Question A few questions about the 2008 G35

Ok guys, please bear with me and the questions I'm about to ask. I don't know much about Infiniti's and I've just bought one (I know a lot more about German cars especially Audis) so I'm trying to expand my knowledge on this one:

1) My dealer told me my first service is when I hit 1000k which is 621Miles, now as far as I've read it should be more like 1000Miles (1931Kilometers). Any ideas? and do they do an oil change in the first service?

2) Can I run diagnostics mode on the 2008 G35 by following the same procedures as: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ght=Diagnostic

3) My car came equipped with rear view camera, Bose sound system and 3 RCA Connections in the armrest just like below:

Now I don't have Navi or a Navi button on my head unit (OEM head unit for 2008 G35) Currently I have the I-pod connected via the 3 RCA connections (As the picture shows above) I get perfect sound quality, and I get video although it comes out Black and White.

Now Do I just need a PAC AAI-NISv2? or would I also need a controller such as PAC SWI-X? Would either of these work on the 2008 model? What I want is to control the songs from the steering buttons as well as have the ability to view artist name, track etc on the OEM screen.

Or do I go with the same set-up as this:https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...70#post2812370 Keeping in mind that mine is 2008 model?

I'm sorry for asking the same question, but I have been searching for a week now and I've read pretty much every post there is but it seems that no one is in the same situation as me with their 2008 G35, any help would be GREATLY appreciated

what country are you from? Since you're dealing with km I assume not the US. In the US, the premium package (which is what you need to get the Bose stereo) comes with an ipod interface in the center console. You should see a separate jack in the center console and an ipod cable shoudl have been given to you (or left in the glove compartment).

But, I can't see the jack in your picture, so either you don't have a 2008, or things are equipped differently in your country. I'm guessing it's the latter.

I believe it is the latter as well. I'm in Saudi Arabia, and the Bose system came with the car, but as you've already notice there is no Jack in the glove box just the RCA connections. When I asked the dealer about the Ipod cable he told me none came with it, and that I ha to buy an RCA connection to connect my ipod. This only gives me audio and nothing else

that's really odd, seeing how US-market g35's have the ipod hookup--actual ipod dock connector to connect to the bottom of your ipod--if you got the package that includes the bose studio-on-wheels.

there is probably a connection on your radio that would support the American-market ipod connection. it might be as simple as finding a dealership over here that is willing to sell you the parts. I COULD BE WRONG.

was that car built specifically for the Saudi Arabia market, or was it originally sent to another country and then imported to SA?

Humm, the suggestion of getting in contact with a US dealership would be one idea to try.

I'm not quite sure if it was built specifically for the SA market, all I know is that it was built in Japan and then shipped over here (not sure if it stooped anywhere along the way)

and I don't think I have studio on wheels, I do have the Bose sound system but is that everything that's included in the studio on wheels package? I've also spoken to PAC and they haven't tried a connection for the 2008 G35, they said maybe in the next few months, thanks for the help guys

621 miles is WAYYY too short for first service - either they are trying to rip you off or there's something different over there that they need to service...

Here in the states first service is at 3750 miles

Yeah, that's what I thought. I dunno I'll ask him, maybe its because of the weather here, we're always between 30-40C (86-104 Fahrenheit) so maybe that's why but I'll ask him again

Yeah I thought it was a bit short. Maybe there is something different here, I'll ask him. The weather here is really hot around 30-40c (60-100 Fh) so maybe thats why but I'll double check to see what exactly they do

Hi, my first post on the forum and i'll try to help if I can. I'm based in Dubai and saw your Pic thread as well. I recently bought an Infiniti Sedan G35 08 as well and it comes with the same specs as you have which is a mixture of premium and journey. I think this is what is called the GCC specs, except that when I bought the car, I had the option of going for the aluminum trim over the rosewood. We both got the same IP color as well!

This is the normal practise with all Japanese car manufactures in the Middle East I assume. First service is on 1000KM. I just got mine done recently. All they do is a small checkup of few points and yah they do an oil change. In Dubai we get the 1000KM and 5000KM service free of charge when you buy any Infiniti. This is also a good time to point out any complaints or things you missed while you initially picked up the car.

Even in my 2008 model I only got the RCA connections and no iPod connections. Think this is what happens in the middle east that they screw us up. Anyways to get your video in color all you have to do is go into your Ipod, select video, and go to settings. Set the output as NTSC and Widescreen. This should solve your problem.

Also forgot to mention, if you go for the factory ipod integration thread, I think you could only get audio out of it not Video. Someone else could confirm that.

Oh ok, so we're both in the same boat I guess. Well if you find out anything about Ipod integration please let me know, and I'll do the same. I also spoke to PAC yesterday http://www.pac-audio.com/ to see if they've tested a wiring kit for the 08 and they told me that so far they haven't but to keep checking back on their site because they should within the next few months
