Question Best Mods for Hot weather

Hey guys, wanted to ask, what are the best mods I could do on my car. We have year round hot weather between 30-45c (86-113f) sometimes hits 50C 122f (although only for a couple of weeks) and NO RAIN!! (I've been used to the UK with year around rain) but no more

- Now would a Carbon Fiber engine cover help ?

- Would the Injen Intakes help?

- I'm also seeing that the Pendulum spacer isn't available for the 08 G35 so thats out of the question.

- I doubt exhausts would do anything to help out (Although I'm still gonna get them)

Any other mods anyone can suggest that might help keeping the engine temp cool? Currently the engine temp is in the normal range, hardly moves over the cold stage, but I haven't broken in the car yet so haven't redlined it (YET!!)and Does anyone else live in a place that has similar temps to me?

The only thing you can do to keep the heat down is to optimize your timing (retard it just a bit), add some "water wetter" to the coolant and/or replace the radiator with a custom 3 or 4 core unit, larger (more cfm) fans and a custom air director for the radiator. Keep the radiator free from bugs and dirt.

Been in Dubai all my life, and we almost have the same temperature. I don't think you need to worry a lot about keeping the engine cool. I think the GCC specs care are built with the temperature in mind. I've had 3 Japanese cars before I got the G 2 week back. They were Accord, Prado & Corolla. Drove all of them 5 years + and never had to worry about the hot weather. Hope the G is same

Not sure about engine temps, but Motordyne's iso-thermal mod is great for keeping intake temps lower, and the plenum stays cool enough to put your hand down on it... just don't know if they make them for 07+ yet.

Thanks Pawan, you've re-assured me a bit. I know the UAE has the same if not warmer weather than we do, and you guys have more humidity. Thanks or the re-assurance

Humm, haven't seen that yet. I'll check it out. So is the Motordyne Iso-thermal mod a liquid solution or an actual part that you fit on?

Not sure what % mine is at, but it was installed by the dealer who recommended the set-up I got, specifically based on the really hot weather we're about to have soon. He said it should help with cooling the interior very nicely. I also got the front windows tinted (They don't look silly dark) and also the sunroof.

the stock setup on your G will be fine in the heat for the engine. Do some tinting for your comfort.

Yeah tints are already on. I just had to make a mad dash to work with some heavy driving and the engine temp seems fine, so I guess no worries there.

I live in the Arizona desert and have no issues but change the oil more often than the manual recommends.

Sounds like a good idea. How often do you change yours?
