Chip
ok so after owning this car for a while i know the basics of modding this car is an intake and exhaust and other small things....well my question is has anyone developed a chip for our cars yet? I know from previous cars i've had that having a chip is definatly one of the most effective mods you can do without getting into forced induction.....so if you guys know of any chips on the market for our cars as of rite now please let me know thanks!

178,900 Japanese Yen = 1,731.32 US Dollar
Cobb Tuning has been working on a similar product (accessport) for the HR forever... no telling when and if it will ever be available. I check their website about once every three months

For 1700 it should have specs. I had BSR PPC's for my SAAB and both of my S60R's...and they were expensive at $1100.00. But they had extensive testing, remapped everything, and with just a stage one took the R from 300 hp to 354. It was plug and play and you could take it to and from factory settings in 7 minutes. AND...did not void the warranty as a dealer could not tell it was there.
While I'm new to the Japanese products, it seems that someone here is missing the boat. They only made about 3500 R's a year, and it got a tune. I'm sure with all these particular engines around, there seems to be a huge untapped market. Or is it simply the design prohibits tunes?
Just my .02

The computer controls the boost on a turbo car. On the S60R, the tune likely upped the boost by 3lbs or more. Also if your S60R was an auto, the tune would get rid of the boost and tq limits on 1st and 2nd gear. (I looked into getting an S60R before this car).
For a stock, n/a car, there's little power to be made with a "chip." 10hp would be a reasonable expectation for a stock car. When you start modifying the internals of the car (heads/cam or forced induction), a tune is necessary to see gains.
