Grounding Kits from Stillen

Hey guys - any of you guys replace your grounding kits on your G's?

Any thoughts about this? any gains?

Search for "grounding", there are several threads including mine. I found no difference after installing a grounding kit, so removed it.

Thanks,

Steve

Maybe you tried the wrong one.
Read the reviews for my custom kit...it may change your mind.

I hear stillens ground kits are a huge fail. Try sxexcx or gordee's, nothing but positive reviews for both.

I hear if you get some stickers, it'll make the manumatics shift faster and increase hp by 5hp.

Reading the review does nothing for me. I still think it's rubbish.

Read it:
  • You show a coupe, I drive an '07 sedan with a VQ-HR
  • I used Gord's kit, which has a similar reputation for quality
  • I found no difference, a few others have said they did. Who's right?

Everyone is entitled to share their experience, but comments are worthless when someone posts negative comments without trying it themselves. I dont know why you had to delete my comment, it was logical.

im not going to spend $50 on a dyno session to tell me I have a smoother current going to my accessories.

I honestly don't see where any hp would come from. Maybe the alt. not working so hard and not leaching off of the crank. but even that, the alt. turns at a rpm ratio of the crank at all times. I think they are worthless also. spend your money on something useful.

Its $50, not even a full tank of gas?!?

I'd be willing to do it if sxexcx makes a kit for the 2nd gen sedan...

I've done a little reasearch, albeit very little, and it seems like grounding kits were absolutely a big updrade on previous generations. But with the 07+ models Infiniti upgraded their grounding kits to aftermarket quality.

That is just my .02 from what I've read and heard. I'd love to see some VQ-HR dyno's with one of those aftermarket kits, but like most have said, just not sure its worth it at this point with the upgrades that have been implemented on our cars.

The grounding kit have nothing to do with gaining HP, and I am not sure where you have heard that...definately not from me. Read the reviews, they are all the same response...quicker, smoother shifts in manual mode (AT), and the engine just feels smoother all around.

So while that may not increase hp, if it does speed up the shifts, it would be quicker in the 1/4 right?

Have you done an 07+ sedan?

Huh? I'm lost...
  • I DID try a grounding kit, then posted a lengthy results thread with the most objective and salient points I could think of. It's in this forum.
  • I didn't try YOUR kit, and stated that I didn't. Perhaps yours is completely different...
  • What comment are you talking about that I theoretically deleted...?
