Looks like I'll be having them look at it on my next oil change. I'll have to keep an ear out and note when it sounds louder, but I think it is pretty much all the time.

I've got another question. As you all know the compressor stays on even when the auto climate isn't cooling the interior anymore. Is this pretty much the same as having the AC running? Is it still sapping the same amount of HP and gas as if it was under regular load?

When I have the A/C on it doesn't make any noise but when I turn it off there is a loud grinding noise, some days its worse than others depending I guess on how long I have the A/C on or how hot it is. I took it into the dealer the other day to have the mechanic listen to it and he said the compressor+clutch have to be replaced. He said he hasn't seen this problem yet because the car is fairly new (only a year old). I've scheduled the repair for this Thursday. Looking at this thread though it seems like it's happening to many owners.

I've got this problem as well. Will be asking the dealer to take a look at it at my next oil change along with the TSB for the sensitive throttle.

Mine was making a very low growling fan noise that you could hear when it was on low fan speed, and the car was idling and up to maybe 10 mph.
Took it in and they replaced the compressor as they said it had no oil in it.
It still makes the same noise, but and I'm guessing it is normal as it's not anything that you would hear unless you were listening for it.

It still blows ice cold air and gets cold pretty fast. Just wondering if this is normal to G's and something I have to deal with, or if its worth noting to the dealer.

Thanks!
Mine makes the same noise. I just turn my stereo up and hope if it breaks, it breaks under warranty.

I just made an appointment for next Tuesday to have them check it out. I have the same noise on my 2008 with 400 miles on it.

Disappointing. I can't find a TSB on it yet. Would love to have that when I take it in for feare of the all too common response "we couldn't duplicate the noise" statement.
