I'm thinking ahead My DSM with the 2 step at 6500rpms is brutal on exhaust components.

I had a Borla exaust on my RSX type S. I picked it because it was concidered to be one of the quietest exhausts on the market that still provided gains. Paired up with a race header I was very satified with the combo, even though it was an expensive exhaust for a rather plain look.

All,

Just talked to Borla folks and they said they are not "releasing" the Dyno chart yet due to something had to do with copetitor market etc... But they said they guranteed 7% increase which is roughly 21.4 HP gain.

I don't know.... it sounded pretty good and I know Borla is a great brand and I'm pretty sure they are not bsing.

What do you guys think?

I'm a bit skeptical of these gains on a cat back alone. 21HP at the crank or roughly 17HP at the wheel (based on my baseline of 243), but still rather high considering they just about DOUBLED the HP gains from any of their competitors (e.g. 9HP gain at the wheel from my cat back). My 9HP was measured from the average of 3 pulls stock to the average of three pulls after cat back install ... which took place within an hour ... on the dyno.

I'm not saying they are BSing, but I have a feeling the numbers they claim are not an apples to apples comparison, hence, no details or plots provided. If they are really that much of an improvement, they should be able to back up all the claims and easily outsell their competitors. Maybe they market to people that will never put it on a dyno to verify the results?

Are they true dual setup? or just H-pipe setup? And what's the piping size?

I don't know... 17whp seems really high to me as well with JUST cat-back.

Anyone has this exhaust setup that wants to verify it?

If everyone sends me $20-, I'll order and install it, and post the results.

With emphasis on AVERAGE. That's the way you should compare.

What's the difference between the lowest stock dyno and highest modded dyno? Those are the results that you're more likely to hear from the manufacturer.
