Need Offset Help Quick!!!!!!!!!!!

Need Help fast!!!

Just ordered new wheels today but order will not go out until monday. Need to confirm my offsets before then.

Wheels: Work Varianza SC1

19x9 +35(front)
19x10.5 +45(rear)

Tires: Nitto NT555 245/35/19 & 275/30/19

Will this work for an 08 G35s Sedan (for sure)
Can I also go with +43 offset on the rear without rubbing?

Thanks Guys

Your wheel offsets are both wrong. The fronts will stick outside the fender by about 5/8" , and the rears will stick outside the fender by about 3/4". I dont have these wheels, but I did the math to figure it out for You.There is a database somewhere on this site that shows what wheels other people have used.

A* +43 in the rear will not work either. +43 will stick outside the fender even more than a +45.Offsets are towards the inside of a wheel, so a bigger # means more towards the inside. Here is* the basic math. example 9" wide wheels. 9" wheels are actually 10" wide. Divide width in half = 5". Add offset of +35mm(1.377") so 5"+1.377"= 6.377".* 6.377" is the dimension from the hub flange to the inner edge of the wheel. To get the dimension from the hub flange to the outer edge of the wheel, subtract 6.377 from the total width. So 10"-6.377"= 3.623".This wheel will be 3.623" from the hub to the outer edge.On Your car, front wheels with hub to outer edge dimensions of about 3.070" will be flush with the front fenders. For the rear,You want about 3.200" hub to outer edge to be flush with the fenders.

gypsy,

Thanks for the reply.

looking at the chart I've seen the following offsets for 19x9:

+26, +29, +38

The offsets in the 20s seem a bit low to me but don't seem to have any problems according to the owners. Im thinking +35 to +37 should be fine. What do you think?

Couldn't find any 10.5s in the chart. However, there were plenty of 10s with
+40 offsets. In that case shouldn't a 10.5 with a +45 be ok. Your thoughts?

Talking with Chris from F1 Motor Sports he says that the +45 in the rear should be fine and the +35 for the front should be ok as well. He stated another customer order a set with +43 for the rear and +37 front (his friend has this set up with no rubbing issues at all).

I may go up to a +36 or +37 for the front but I need more input.

seriously... please please please dont talk unless you know what you're talking about. These wheel's tires, will fit fine with no rubbing whatsoever. I am a wheel *****/offset/tire guru.

OP...

YES those will fit perfectly. The only thing i would change is that you use a 275-35-19 rear tire. the 275-30 is too short for the 2nd gen sedans and is also shorter than the front 245-35 tire.

You'll need about -1.7 degrees of camber in the rear to no rub, but other than that, you'll be good as long as the car is lowered over an inch.

i realize you're just trying to help, but math has almost nothing to do with this subject. You can calculate it all you want, but unless you try it, you wont know for sure. And i've tried it time after time after time after time.

Your calculations of how far the wheel will stick out are correct, but that is if the car is not lowered.

If you're going to be running wide wheels with offsets like these, the car MUST be lowered and have some negative camber.

Thanks for the responses guys

Yes the car will be lowered on Eibach Springs.

Gdupg35sedan:
I thought about getting 35s on the rear but they usually look hella chubby (more so than the front). However, thats usually on a 10" wide wheel not a 10.5. Your thoughts?

Also, is -1.7 degrees of camber a lot? Will I need the eibach allignment kit as well?

Crespo:
Which size / brand tires are you running? What's your rear camber like?

Thanks

If you were going to run the same wheels, but not lower, how would that affect the offset of the wheel? I've been thinking about some work 19" wheels as well and really want to use the Eibachs but not sure if I'm going to lower or not (due to bad roads in the area) and would hate to make a decision based on one and do the other. Is there an offset that will be a happy medium if I can't decide?

Go look at any coupe with a 9.5/10.5 245/275 setup, and that is what your's will look like in the rear as far as how the tire fits. It is a mild stretch and doesnt look chubby at all.

-1.7 is around a 1/4 of a degree outside of factory specs. You dont need a camber kit, you just need to get an alignment and make sure the camber is around -1.7 and get the toe set to factory specs.

Being lowered and not lowered doesnt affect the offset of the wheel in any way. It affects the fitment. when you lower the car, you get more negative camber which brings the top of the wheel in and further away from the fender to prevent rubbing. for every extra degree of camber you get approx. 10mm's of clearance.
