Tinting
Tinting
Tinting question for y'all.
I just had the car tinted the other night, 35% tint, not sure what the brand/manufacturer was. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that in my other ride, -Altima SE-R the tint was more darker, blacker looking, they said it was an onyx-tint. But in this car, the shop said it was harder to achieve that because the window glass was a different type/color/polarized? from the factory. Does that sound true? They did a great job tinting, but its alot lighter looking than I had hoped and more yellow/gold-ish for lack of a better word than dark. Make sense? Thoughts/comments appreciated.

35% usually looks pretty light especially the front windows.. i have 18% on my front windows and it looks decently light during the day with all the sunlight coming through the front windshield.. my back windows are about 5% because i have two layers of tint in the back and it looks pretty dark.. if you want it to look darker but not too illegal looking then you should have gone with 26% suntek film.. it doesn't look too dark and it's not as light as the 35% which is a perfect compromise.. it also depends on where you live and the tint laws.. I'm from MA and the law is 35% all around but you can get away with 26% or 18% in the rear windshield and 26% on the sides.. but ya.. GL and hope i was a little helpful
Yeah, I mean the shops cool (it's actually my GF's bro), so I know its right, it just doesnt look how my Altima used to look. That was an onyx tint (legal) but looked black and nice with the black paint. This time with this tint, it just looks very slightly tinted, but he's saying its the best that can be done legally. Plus I like it to be the same all around. I hear ya, esp in MA, they can be PITA about tint, so I dont want anything that will get me noticed more by the boys in blue.
Thanks.
Thanks.

my G has 35% tint, and though i wanted darker (the dealership had the car tinted before i picked it up free of charge) i can't complain about free tint....
here's a pic of my car with the dealer's tint job:

and here's my gf's 35% tint i got done at a buddy's shop, it's supposedly "high performance" tint, it has a slight sheen to it, and will block out more heat that other brands with the same darkness rating:
