When going WOT...
- Does your car make a "pshh" sound between shifts?, and
- Does the tach go all the way to 8k rpm between shifts?
I just noticed this on my 5AT and was wondering if those are normal.
Thanks.

Thanks, as always, for the response, Steve. I definitely get the "pshh" but not the rattle. I'll search some more and read up on it.
As for the rpm climbs, it goes to 8k rpm every time. The rpm drops between them, of course. I should have clarified, it goes to 8k rpm then shifts. You know, with our older Maxima's, it barely even wanted to touch the first red tick.
On a side note, i'll get the hang of which topic goes on which thread soon enough so you guys don't have to keep moving 'em.

Mike, just for you buddy, at lunch I did two redline runs 1st to 2nd, in D and DS. Both times the G shifted exactly at 7.5k.
So either a) there's a problem, or b) you got a G with a tune that raised the shift points...?

Mike - Do not wait until exactly 7500 rpm to shift. ATs have a bit of lag when shifting. This compounds the problem when you're doing the 1st to 2nd shift b/c it rips through 1st gear pretty fast.
Shift at around 7200 or 7300 rpm.
Or, do you mean your car goes to 8000 rpm when you just leave it in "D"? If that's the case, I'd take it to the dealer as it seems like a calibration issue.
