2007 G35X with 15k on the Clock
Is it me or are any others out there feel the same thing: I noticied that the ride quality seems to have deteriorated - feel the bumps a bit more. Took her in for an a 15k service and the ride seems to have changed. Is it me???
Thanks for the feedback. It may be that the tires are down 50% in tread, and that's affecting the ride a little and the weather has turned much colder here in NY. Or maybe it's just me...
I live/drive in roughly the same area as you do, and have ~25K on stock tires. Stock Goodyears progressively become crap ride-quality wise and I started to feel a difference somewhere around 17-20K. They never handled well in the rain and are average to below average for an A/S in the snow (considering the low threadwear rating, that isn't surprising). Goodyears are coming off after this winter. During the winter months you have to factor in poor road surface quality (new cracks/potholes/debris) affecting your ride as, which becomes even more pronounced in NYC metro area.

I think the Goodyears' ride quality does deteriorate with 15 to 20k on the the Eagles. Plus with the cold weather it definitely feels worse, almost "trucky". I'm going to dealership tomorrow to have checked out. Just to be sure there isn't a damaged strut, bushing or other suspension part. But I think it's the tires. Checked the pressure - they were at 32lbs cold. Filled to 34 lbs cold. If I recall, on a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix - had the same tires and the ride degraded also at about the same mileage......
Any suggestions on replacement tires - Michelins, Yokohamas, ??

I'm still running the stock Goodyear tires on my '07 G35x, and although I've only had the car for a little over a week (certified pre-owned Infiniti program), the car handles really well. I've owned an '06 IS350 sport, as well as a '04 TL with the factory sport suspension, and this car is a much better handler than either of those, although it does ride a bit more rough than either of those cars. BTW, I've got 21k miles on the clock.
FWIW, I've always had very, very good experiences with Yokohama shoes (at least five sets over the years).
Good luck!

JC: I had Yokos on my Mazda 6. hey were great.
By ride quality on the G35X, I mean it seems to feel the roughness in the road more than when it was new. The road holding abilities is still "top shelf".

Although I can't compare my car to new, I can say that I feel most every imperfection the road has to offer.
I had the Lexus and I prefer to feel what's going on rather than the numb disconnection, so this is a tradeoff I can live with. I do think better tires will help when that time comes, but I'll run this set until they give up the ghost.

Bought mine on Good Friday 2007 and have just done 4,000 miles.
Didn't really like the vehicle for a long time but it has "grown" on me. I live in a rural area and the G35 soaks up the crappy roads very well. I have a Range Rover and a hot rod, the G35 is now my favorite...a great all-rounder.
The perfect car for someone wanting speed/comfort without the additional cost of a German badge. I have owned two Porsche 911's and a BMW and even tried another Porsche last year with the idea of trading the G35...I kept the Infiniti
