Assuming it's coming from the flex joint, how would you consider that normal?

Any exhaust I've ever had that had a flex joint never made any noises like that

Yes dont cut your flex section,it extends when your engine torques back and forth so it keeps your entire exhaust from moving back and forth with it.underneath that mesh is ribbit tubing that extends back and forth,if you cut it off and replace it with steel piping then your gonna have a lot of vibration problems and your exhaust pulling back and forth through the hangers.By the way why do you have HFC with the stock exhaust its kinda pointless unless your gonna do and exhaust.

I'm thinking of getting a full exhaust.

Thats cool, yeah thats the way to go esp when you have HFC,i noticed you have the fujita intakes on there, unless you just have them for sound, stock is way much better for performance.I ran a 13.65@103.7 5AT with just stock replacement K&N panel filters and the mufflers removed,i gained maybe 5 hp if that.So its still basically stock.

Hmm... Well After the Fujitas I feel more of a punch in the 4k+rpm, and it's really there for the sound and the looks, they are candy Burple in color. I love my car, but I can't beat my friends anyways they have a fully modded 335i chipped and a GTR with a full exhaust, so I'm happy with my set up. hahahaha.

I have a hiss with my Berks too. Funny thing is, I noticed that the mechanic didn't use one of the stock gaskets from the passenger side CAT upon installing the new HFCs. When I called back and asked about it, one of the techs' said I didn't need it and that the hiss is normal....

I don't know about that I wish I would have called the guy out when he installed the HFCs and asked questions.

I'm thinking this might be the issue. Otherwise, everyone with HFCs would complain about the same problem yet this is not the case.

In my situation, you don't hear the hiss/rasp sound much unless you open up the gas to WOT. Is that when you guys are hearing it too?

Hmm I have the Stillen Cat-back also, and have no hissing sound whatsoever!? And will have my FI HFC's in this Wed! so sounds like maybe a small air leak in your exhaust somewhere?

In first gear under 1/2+ throttle, I have a noise from the exhaust too. I doubt there's anything wrong with it, it's probably just the design of the system and the mufflers.

So you're still rocking the Y-Pipe?
Why not save a little while longer and pick up a complete Cat-Back?
