What should I get first.

Strut bar or intakes?

Things to consider with my ride:

a) Im an X, and I cant put any other sways or braces aside from the strut bar and I am not lowered.

I could benefit from a strut bar; but users have reported very small gains in terms of handling.

b) I have a catback exhaust so the sound that I will gain from the intakes is not really a big deal. But will it give me enough gains to make it worth the money? Since our stock airboxes are pretty good already?

Well, you already know my answer. The SRI is tough to pass up right now, considering the price. I didn't do it for gains though. I like the look under the hood, like the idea of being able to clean and reuse my filters and the sound aint bad either.

The bar is next for me too. I don't think you can wrong either way.
Boy, these decisions are a lot tougher for you, now that the wheels are on, paddles are in and the CF is complete.

 

its very tough!!!!

the only time I will feel the strut bar is if I take a turn REALLY hard or if I have to do an evasive manuever (I hope I wont have too). but for the most part, I'll never know its there or truly benefit from it.

Intakes however, I will often know its there when I drive spirited since I'll hear it but... it boils back down too... is it worth the money... since gains are quite... subjective if not, very minimal.

I dunno Scott... its quite the toss up :S

Nah, it sounds like you've already answered your own question.
Just get over the fact that all intakes offer minimal gains and get on with ordering one.

I think soon enough, your next answer is, just get both at the same time and call it a day. If I did do that, im definately painting my engine cover black.

Think of it this way...
Do the Intake first. If you do the bar first, you'll need to remove it to get the Intakes on. Do the Intakes first and think of all the calories you have not burned needlessly.

That might just be the selling point.

 

Wes get the STB, the stock intake is pretty efficient, and you have the stillen exhaust for nice sound. You told me before you wanted to improve handling and the STB is a step towards that (and it won't break the bank )

its still pretty close. 3 for FSB and 4 for Intakes.

 

You know, if you're considering the R2C. For roughly the same price, you could get an Injen SRI and the Circuit Sports FSTB.

...that's what I did when I ordered my FI.
Then I ordered the 4 part GT-Spec front kit too...
Then I decided screw it, I'm making a border run anyway, so I added sways as well.
