2008 G35-S Sedan with burn-off smell.HELP!

I have an unusual smell on occasion upon arriving at my destination and moments before I switch the vehicle off...my car is usually on "fresh air" and climate control setting at 60-degrees manually. This smell could pass for antifreeze or burning oil et cetera...there isn't any evidence of leaks. I took the car into my local Infiniti dealership this morning and there doesn't seem to be a reason as to why this is happening. I went into the mechanic shop and they raised the car on the jack, I visibly inspected underneath the car and absolutely nothing to be found. We checked the oil, it was fine. We check antifreeze and power-steering fluid...all was well. Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? Any sound advice? I had them log the issue into the system for future reference...my car has 19K miles... I am concerned!

How many miles on your car? The air cabin filter maybe?

Have 19K miles...filter changed not too long ago with scheduled maintenance...I was thinking that as well. If this continues, I will have them change it out. Thanks Black08Beauty.

Is it happening after you had a spirited drive?

My car hasn't done this in awhile, but when new up to about 10-12 k it would put out a smell at times that seemed to smell like coolant. Now one thing commone to most of these cases was that it had recently rained. This brings me back to another car I had that would all of a sudden fog up inside. Turned out that the drains for the ventilation intake were partially plugged. What I think occured with it was that it would get a little bit of water in this area and then slosh over to the heater core. Was easy to fix, hard to figure out since it was not easy to see.

In any case doubt you have anything to worry about and yes many others have reported this and I can't remember anyone having any proof of what was causing it.

In my case it was an auto. I don't know if one particular transmission had more post about this or not. I thought about brakes, exhaust pipes, engine paint, etc. It seemed to do it when I was actually going down the road more so then when stopped. If I was to state what it smelled like it was similar to how a car smells shortly after going through water. Haven't notice it for probably 5k miles now, it just sort of stopped so I am sort of thinking it may just be engine paint or exhaust pipes.

I ONLY get that smell when I'm driving it very hard. I always assume its coming from the transmission, I tend to downshift at high rpms when I'm messing around. That is usually when I get that smell, smells just like burning oil. Not sure if its the same smell your getting but that is the only smell I've ever gotten from the G.

Ive been noticing a slight antifreeze smell from my car when I walk in front of it in the garage it is not too bad, but it got me all worried. I have looked over and over trying to find leaks but I cannot find any leaks. The car does not overheat and coolant level does not goes down etc. The car drives, handles perfectly, however I am worried about the slight smell of antifreeze (outside). I have performed an oil change recently at a dealership and I would expect them to tell me if they indeed found a leak? yes? what do yall think? should I take it back to the dealership for an inspection???

If you have a antifreeze leak then you coolant level will drop eventually no matter what.
