Question Maintenance

My wife has an 08 G-35 that is about ready for the second oil change. I do my own regular maintence. I find the under engine cover very hard to remove and some of the clips break and can't be replaced. Does anyone have a better way and have better replacement clips? thanks, need help!

the clips should be fairly simple to remove with a flat head screwdriver. just fit it in the groove and pop the head out and then remove.. but yes they do break easily. The dealer sells them at a ridiculous price but you can probably find them on ebay or something. To do an oil change on my coupe, you don't really have to remove the whole undercover (I'm not sure about the sedan) have you tried just bending it back once you removed some of the rear bolts?

To Elayman: No, I removed the entire cover. I'll try removing the rear bolts. I wonder if some type picture hanger screw that expands when tightened would work and could be removed easley. Any one tried another type clip?

i think the Journey and X have a separate door in the splash shield for the oil change while the S cover has to be removed to do the oil change properly and easily, not that hard really with an electronic 24v driver

Oil change, removal of bottom engine cover

thanks, I'll have it to do next week. Still seems it could be designed a little easier.
