Help! Gap in window seal causing wind noise...

Ok, so I've given up on the dealers and plan to fix this stupid noise on my own (as I've had to fix all my other noises with this car on my own also). I have a large gap in the back corner of the driver's side window seal and I am getting massive amounts of wind noise inside the cabin with the window rolled up. I tried to re-seat the seal by pulling it up from the bottom, but with no luck.

Should I just replace the entire seal with a brand new one, how hard would that be to do?

This is a 2007 G35x.

They replaced the inside weatherstrip for the door recently under warranty, but that didn't fix the noise and I'm now conveniently 2k miles out of the basic warranty; power-train warranty isn't going to help me here.

If it was replaced , incorrectly, under warranty they should have to do it again and get it right.

I think i have the same issue but never bothered taking it in, but if thats the cause for the wind noise then i might have to pay the dealer a visit...

It is possible the noise is coming from another source around the window, but this looks like the obvious cause to me considering the other side doesn't have this big of a gap and it doesn't have the noise... I guess I plan to fill the gap with a temporary filler and drive the car to see if it fixes it. The wind noise that comes in at my ear level is insane!

I would just put a piece of tape (perhaps electrical) over it to test the noise.

So I tried a strip of tape across the back corner, covering the gap, but that didn't stop the sound. Added an additional strip of tape going from the gap down and it completely stopped the noise. Removed the top strip and it was back, weird. I guess it's the whole area back in that corner leaking air; regardless, I don't know how to fix it other than leave both pieces of tape on. Sure is nice and quiet with the tape!

Very interesting! I will try the tape trial tomorrow and if it works then i am sure i can get the dealership to change the seals all around and that should fix the problem, but if not then i am sure we can fix it by adding some thin foam on the entire vertical side of the seal. (My understanding being that you placed the tape on the driver side window all along the b pillar.

I wish I still had warranty as I figure the whole seal would be hard to replace. Might check with a local body shop and see what they would charge me...

I didn't have to tape it all the way down, I only had to tape about 5" out from the corner pictured in both directions: 1. From the corner toward the front of the vehicle. 2. From the corner toward the bottom of the vehicle.

I made an example from the original photo. Now I need to clean the tape residue off my pillar.
