It takes a little finesse to get the filter boxes out, but once you do it sould be fairly easy to reach behind the headlight housing and loosen the bulbs. For me the tricky part was getting the old bulb out of the socket. Then it's just put in the new bulb, slide it back in the housing, turn the bulb to lock it in place and replace the filter box.
can you post pics of how the fogs look during the day and at night using the new fog bulbs?

Has anyone changed the fogs out to a more orange or yellow bulb? Seems to me, being as high as they are, for a good fog you would want more yellow?
What do you recommend brand wise? I've installed aftermarket bulbs in my previous cars with no problems ('cept for them dying on me). I avoid using the factory fogs because of their palish yellow. I also thought about changing the front turn signal amber lights to white, but now I'm worried about the harness getting burned up.

I posted these pics in some other thread... but here.

Stock:

Aftermarket:

These are 6000k but still too yellow and dim compared to the HID's.

I wish they were a little bit brighter.

I plan on doing this as well.

For those of you who are long time Nissan/Infiniti owners, you claim using higher wattage bulbs is a recipe for burning up a wiring harness, correct?

I wanted to change my fogs to yellow colors, but I noticed the Nokya Hyper Yellow Bulbs (about $25) are 70 watts, and the manual specifies 51 watt bulbs for the fogs.

I really like the PIAA bulbs, and those draw 55 watts, but they are about $80!!!

So, I assume I need to be very careful about what bulbs I use, right?

I think mine are 55 or 65 watts.

Oh no... but I rarely turn on my fogs anymore so I think I'll be okay.

I just want to make sure i understand you here...when you say the fogs that are in this pic are 6000k--do u mean these are HID 6000k? It just seems odd that a HID bulb would be so pale at 6k when our stock is only 4k.

Nope. Sorry I didn't mention that. I think I mentioned it on the other thread I posted before this one...

It's 6000K in halogen temp... I guess the HID and halogen temps are very very very different.

I'm going to pay the extra $$ for the Yellow PIAA for the 55w. This is much closer to the 51 watt spec. I never fixed that wiring harness that burned up on my Altima. I sold the car with it broke. It was going to cost me $400 for an new harness or I would have to go to the junk yard and find one to cut off. Either way, the extra $50 is worth it. At 12v, that extra 20watts is 1.5 amps and for small wire, this could overheat. It took about a year before mine went out on one side. I checked the other side and it was toast. I could not even disconnect it.

Ahhhh yes I had a feeling something wasnt right in that post....I knew that a 6K Hid bulb couldnt be that pale.

Im planning to go 6k with the heads and fogs. U can go on ebay right now and get a fog hid for about $100 and change.....I figured why not spend another $100 and upgrade the heads too. Kill 2 birds uknow.

Although the sensible thing would be to just buy the fog bulb and save the extra money.....but then again im driving a 07 Infiniti G35--how sensible can I be with money.....lol

As long as you don't up the wattage of the bulb(id. 35w->55w) you should be fine
And I don't know why but my owners manual says my fogs are H1(06 coupe) Is this the same as 9006?
