Ahhhhhh....I am considering premier membership just b/c I feel like I've gotten at least $30 worth of info out of these forums!!! Time to give back.

I did some research on premier memberships and some of those threads were pretty damn funny. The AG section has piqued my curiosity haha.

Sorry if this is a dumb question.. but do I put the car in neutral/drive first then turn the car off?

Or

When the car is already off... then do I put the car in neutral/drive to remove the paneL?

thanks

Have the car off first unless you like listening to the "not in park" alarm.

Terry:

You're right...I became pretty adept at removing the AV unit as I got a couple of wires confused and grounded the wrong one...finally figured it out. Had to dismantle like 4 times...by the 4th time, I was a pro.

Thanks again.

When removing the shifter console and the center panel console, do they just come off? Or are there any electrical attachments that are connected to it?

what is the function of the shift lock anyway?

The shift lock alllows you to move the shifter handle without turning on your car. Typically used for towing with rear wheels on the ground.

The shifter cover has a wire harness connected to it which is easily removed. The shifter console comes out from the back side FIRST because it has hooks in the front.

So will I have to press on this shift lock first before I can move the shifter while the car is turned off?

K, remove wire harness. Gotcha.

Thanks for the replies terry. I really appreciate it.

It is actually a cover. Detailed info is in the operator's manual.

i just pushed the start button twice without applying the brakes (well obviously set the parking brake) that will allow you the shift into neutral/drive
