Remove Chrome around windows?

I wanted to powder coat the chrome around the windows on our car. Does anyone know how to remove, I do not want to break a clip or anything?

Thanks!!!

but i think the chrome is actually plastic like the grille/trunk finisher.. so it can't be powdercoated? i think someone else posted on this also..

i was looking at the service manual.. looks like it'll be quite a project to remove all of the trim...

how do you like your fi exhaust? i've been thinking about it but haven't heard anything from ppl with mt

I called the dealer and they assured me it's made of aluminum. I heard it was a prett simple snap off thing to do?

I love my FI exhaust! Though I have not heard any other ones in person. I have the HFCs too... search kul G35 on youtube and you can see my vids of it.

interesting.. while i was working on the trunk finisher tonight.. i tapped all around the windows.. and the base piece kinda feels like it might be alum.. the rest.. iono.. feels more plastic-ish.. but thats just my thoughts.. i'd check it out before committ'n to powdercoat.. i do remember that someone posted a while back that taking the trim off was a chore..

i think i'm gonna leave my trim on for a while.. least til i get new wheels or something.. i think getting rid of the trim will draw too much attention to the shiny stock wheels.. : P

saw ur vid on the exhaust.. awesome. were those w/ or w/o the intake?

From what I know it is AL but has a plastic backing and clips. Those plastic parts would not make it through the PC process. They would melt.

They are aluminum but are very thin... be careful when you take these off... they bend very easily.

but it would look SOOOOO tacky if it start to chip off! I want the slight gloss to match with black gloss inbetween front and back windows. I think making the chrome to the black gloss would look damn sporty and sick!

Yeah I'm looking at getting Smoked chrome or something, the only think I've come up with is to go to a tinting place or something have have them put on like 25% tint, that should give it a nice dark shiny look no?
