Yeah I knew the risks but figured A. It's ceritifed and B. The dealer took care of it but yeah I know what you're saying. Hind sight I probably should have stayed away from it.

Nah not a big deal. I would in thisd case actually ask the dealer. If they were the owners than hack ya. What the worst thing can happen? They say no. Doesn't cost money to ask. But than again. If they most likely get the bumper painted. If they couldn't get it right at the first time most likely they wont get it right again. You should ask a bodyshop how much it would be to paint the bumper? If not much maybe better off with that option.

Just my .02

Yeah Tg1234, I actually purchased the car from Michigan and I live in Buffalo. So, if anything I would have to have to get it done here and get it reimbursed somehow. And yes I plan on calling the dealership to see what they'll do or even atleast split the cost with me. Like you said what's the harm in asking. I also plan on calling Infiniti itself to see what kind of coverage there exists under warranty, probably not, but even if not again what's the harm in checking.

Before I do any of this, I am actually taking that car to few different body shops tomorrow to see what the damage is going to be. One of my friends who is versed with fixing cars told me that chances are the entire bumper will peel so the only thing do to really is going to be to get the entire thing repainted rather than just that spot.

So, I am hoping I can come out of this without too big of a hole in my pocket.

PS I am actually taking the car in for an oil change at the local infiniti dealer next week and I mentioned to them that this peeling was happening and I told him that the car is ceritifed and he mentioned how that shouldn't be happening and that they'll take a look at it so I guess again we'll see what happens.

My guess is about $500 to repaint the bumper but you might get the same problem later down the road. IMO, repaint bumper won't be last long regardless some body shops claim that it's as good as the factory paint bumper.
