Went through a similar process on my Black G35. The big challenge now is keeping the swirls to a minimim. Even drying with quality microfiber towels will scratch the Infiniti black paint. With black, you will definitely need to do a maintenance polish every six months or so.

Yeah, I've got the two bucket wash method, grit guards, and MF towels for drying.

I'll see in the spring how good it looks. I was hoping to do a clay/minor polish with M205 only once a year, but we'll see how the car looks in spring!

Its a love/hate relationship with OB. It looks terrible when not well maintained. But if you are into detailing and dont mind waxing it once a month they look beautiful. I love my OB, would not have any other color. And M205 is an awesome product, also a good wax to use for OB is Meguiars cleaner wax with a black pad.

btw, this is what is used to keep my OB looking like new:

Products/process--EXTERIOR:

--Amazing roll off to wheels and tires
--Separate pail for wheel wash/tire scrub
--Clayed with Wolfgangs poly clay/Optimum clay lube
--wet sanded scuffs with 1500 grit then with 2000 grit--then polished out with Menzerna SIP with orange pad. Amazing results

--Alcohol wipe down
--Menzerna NANO with Grey PAd via PC 7424

Ok, here's some misleading pictures for you

Why misleading? Well, it wasn't sunny. I washed the car yesterday, a week after I just spent 18 hours detailing it, and found a nasty surprise.

You can see what I'm talking about here:

/
They appeared after I had detailed the car... another forum dedicated to detailing says it's possible the car was repainted and the solvents were improperly mixed, and that is what I'm seeing. I tried to get it out with M205 and a 4" white pad, and it didn't even make a difference.

Not noticeable in shade, but very noticeable under LED light and less noticeable in sunlight.
