BAUSauto Hood Lock Issue

Not sure where to put this thread.move if needed..

BAUSauto Hood Lock Issue

I got a set of these from BAUSauto and once i got a shop to install them, they began to rust. I contacted AeroCatch directly and this was their reply:

Thank you for your email, unfortunately the catches in your pictures are counterfeit!! All our screws and pivot pins are made from stainless steel and the pivot pins are sonically welded in position whereas it is clear to see -in your pictures - that the handle pivot pin is coming out!! This needs to be addressed or the catches - you have- will lock up very soon!!

Please see our website page on counterfeit AeroCatch
; http//www.aerocatch.com/counterfeit-warning
They sell the hood locks/latches as D1 Generation, Aero Catch, universal hood lock latches. These are all counterfeit as BAUSauto (carbodykits.com) is not a licensed AeroCatch dealer! I contacted BAUSauto and they said they would look into it and that was weeks ago. Please beware

Interesting, and I would be as mad as you if I was in the same position. Hopefully it gets fixed quick.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's Baus' fault. Baus has their own supplier of these hood locks - Baus themselves aren't making these.

Eric and Ben are stand up guys. Give them time as they are extremely busy preparing for HIN LA '12.

Looks like someone at Baus needs counterfeit parts risk mitigation training.
