I believe my original thread was posted in the sedan forum. That video was not very good quality since it was captured off broadcast television to VHS and then compressed into a computer and uploaded on youtube. It was the only video I had at the time.

I was able to get a copy of the original DV tape from the camera guy that filmed it. He's a totally cool guy. Turns out he films a lot of MTV Jackass style footage for a series of DVD's he makes called "Crazy White Boys". I spoke with him recently and he said he used my crash on their new dvd... which i have yet to see.

In this video you can clearly see three people standing on the center divider. Also, as soon as I slide by the stalled car.. the "driver" decided to get out. He posted this comment on the original Youtube video.

That was my car.. that was my car accident.. if the G35 would of hit my car, I would of Died, after the G35 passed I got out my car, and got on top of the divider..."

I have never had any contact with the original driver. The cops would not let me collect any of the other drivers information after the pile up. They said I had a "solo accident". I've wondered since day one if this was a set up. Some people have called me paranoid and others have called me a conspiracy theorist when I try to explain this event.

Watch this video like a hawk and tell me what you think.

photobucket compressed it some. but its still better than the youtube news footage. If anyone knows how to embed an mp4 video please let me know.

I forgot to mention. The camera guy waits to get his money shot AND THEN warns the oncoming traffic by flashing his camera light at the end. As soon as he turned off the camera he ran down to help me.

Pretty sure you remember the thread where someone bought your totaled car, rebuilt it with a salvaged titled and wrecked it again. Good job on avoiding the stalled car.

wait, so, the guy who filmed this claims it was total coincidence that he was filming that car, at that time, right there?

So many horrible drivers in that video. Most of those accidents could have been avoided. Another reason why keeping a proper distance from the person behind you is a must, especially if the person drives a heavy SUV.

he claimed he saw reports of the first accident on the chp website which gives nearly live traffic updates. Even if that were the case, he still beat the police and medics to the scene... by at least 10 minutes.

You mean, keeping a proper distance from the person in front of you, right?

Wow...I think he means behind you, but you are correct to. It is your job to always scan around you. If the person behind you is up your tail, then simply get away from him, even when it is a heavy SUV as he said. But you are correct to.
