OMG! DMV Renewal!
OMG! DMV Renewal!
It's kinda like, " Welcome to California." My tags were $291 when I bought my coupe last November. I just got my renewal in the mail today. How about $726? This state is so out of control it's not funny. If I lived in Tennessee, where everyone pays the same price, it would probably be about $25. Just 5 more years of work, and I'm outta here!

Re: OMG! DMV Renewal!
Wow, I am glad I bought my G the day before those rates went up. So even though I got my sedan for $1000 over invoice instead of $750 from another dealer, I still am over $250 ahead since I did not have to pay as high of a registration fee. Good stuff.
Re: OMG! DMV Renewal!
I'm glad I left that place! Not really though since I never changed my registration over.
California insurance is cheap for me whereas Nevada insurance is a total and complete rip off.
Now, thanks to good old Uncle Gay Davis, my registration costs are complete b.s. along with the fact that illegal immigrants can get driver's licenses. What an F-ING joke.
The total cost is still a bit cheaper than paying for reg. and insurance out here though.
Imagine.... I'm paying $650 a year of so for low deductible insurance in California and Nevada wants $2500 for the same coverage. I told them to shizzle my nizzle and kept my car registered in California.
I guess you can't win them all. I figured at 28 years of age car insurance would be cheap no matter where I lived. The entire industry, including vehicle registration costs are imcomprehensibly stupid. Why the hell are people discouraged to drive new cars with exhorbitant registration costs? Anyone with common sense should realize that semi- trucks and old clunkers should be charged the premium. This topic makes me want to vomit all over that goofy tree-hugging bastard Davis's poor excuse for a face.
