Re: Bad dealer service
If you can't go there, here it is.,
To start with, I brought my wifes I30t to the dealership last week for a rattle in the center console, as well as a 48,000 mile service. I asked that my car not be washed, because they do not do it right and I don't trust them (Hows that business relationship so far).
I had to return today so they can install the new lid on the center console. I forgot to ask them not to wash it. The car finally gets brought around front. I can see the car has been washed (no longer dusty, wheels/rims look like crap, water dripping from the sides, and of course, the interior had not been vacuumed). I approach my drivers seat, the next thing I notice is a lot of water spots on the hood, roof and windshield (you know the kind, where the water had sat on the car for a while, dried up a little, then they ran whatever over it to "dry" it). I asked the new, young (relatively speaking), service advisor if he would send the porter back up to get the water spots off. The porter comes up and asks me if he should take the car back or not, I said that I didn't care, just get the spots off. The service advisor gets back to me 5 minutes later and says "there is wax on the car"....Me---"What do you mean? Are you saying that there is dry wax on the car, or the fact that it looks like it was waxed?". ADVISOR: "you know, we didn't even wash the car." ME---"what are you tallking about, what is all this water dripping from the car. What is this water from when i roll the window up and down?" ADVISOR----"Well we just drove it straight from the back. WE HAVE SOME ACID THAT WE COULD PUT ON IT THAT SHOULD GET THE SPOTS OUT, BUT IT WILL MESS UP THE PAINT" ME----"What do you mean acid, just clean off the spots. I spent a lot of money on Zaino to make this car look good and not have water spots on it." ADVISOR---"Well we have a detailer that could maybe take off the spots." (BTW it was a sunny 96 degrees out here today)
At this point I am too pissed off after having my intelligence questioned, and then talking about acid, and now a "detailer" that will use a high-speed buffer to remove my clear coat with some kind of cutting polish. I don't think so. He asks if I could remove the wax so they could work on the car. I told him I will get back to him.
I went home, and after we cooled off (the car and I) I went at the water spots on the paint with some clay, and the spots on the glass with some vinegar. It appears that the spots on the glass are gone, and a lot of the water spots on the paint are gone, but it looks like hell Maybe I should bill them for my time?
The last loaner I got(I35), had candy stuck in the drink holder, smelled like baby food and excrement, and I am not lying, HAD ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. I cleaned the damn thing out, just so I could drive it. I left the dead ant trail in the car (killed them with raid). Funny thing was, 3 days later JD Powers called to assk about my experience on that day, I let them have it. I just hope that they will call for Todays experience.
And lastly, this is the last time I will visit INFINITI OF MONTCLAIR (Southern California) for service (and probably parts). I will now have to drive the extra miles and go to Infiniti of Monrovia (California).

Re: Bad dealer service
infiniti of montclair has really bad sales experience too. I was interested in purchasing a g35 coupe from them a while back so I requested some info on the website 2 or 3 times. After a week or so, I never got any replies or even telephone calls. So then I went ahead and purchased my car from Jim at mission viejo. Later that week, JD power sent me 2 satisfaction surveys regarding montclair infiniti, and I gave it a horrible review. Something needs to be changed at that dealership. Hope everything goes well with your car.

Re: Bad dealer service
Well that just sucks. While I think all sales experiences suck, I have found good service at both Miller Infiniti and Santa Monica Infiniti. I wish you better luck, I sure know driving the extra bit to feel taken care of seems worth it.
