Tustin Infiniti: Repairs w/ mods

Just got back from infiniti Tustin. Had spoken with Alex on the phone re: engine sensor recall. They did not have any info from corporate on this yet. Told me to bring the car down and he would run it through the computer to see what TSBs need to be done.

Now remember, i have the Stillen, 350z duct and Eibach Springs. Alex was busy, so Henri helped me out. Great guy and helpful - even though everyone else was at lunch and he was stuck helping everyone that came by on their lunch break.

No TSBs for my 03 - and on the way out I asked Henri how he (and the dealership) felt about repairs on cars with mods. He basically said that as long as the install was quality, he had no problems with them. Just don't go bringing in your ride complaining of squeaks cuz Mr. DIY forgot to tighten his bolts. I ran the Stillen Air-box and 350z duct by him - - no problem. Asked him about the Crawford plenum, and he said he didn't care as long as the install was done correctly - although he would prefer work to be done by a qualified shop.

So - at least we know there is one dealership/mechanic that we can go to and not worry too much about hiding mods.

Cheers, Ted

P.S. Oil changes there are $34.95, in case you are interested. I think I am going to have them do it for me so they see my car more often and get used to it - rather than only seeing it when i have a problem.

Re: Tustin Infiniti: Repairs w/ mods

Ted,

Just so you know, I brought my coupe in three times for warranty work on the switch on my seat at Tustin Infiniti, and the third time they damaged my car. Some bonehead left a half an inch gash on my left front spoiler. I even have the clear bra on, and they scrape the part where the bra was not covered. They also left a 10" scrape on my clear bra. They offer to repaint or fix the bumper, however, I am very apprehensive about leaving my car there again. I now have to go through the hassel of leaving my car there, and letting someone in their service dept and body shop abuse my car. Someone has to drive my car from their dealership to Santa Ana...tell me they are not going to abuse my car while driving there??? They just left a very bad taste with me.

In three trips to Tustin Alex has yet to get it right, I always ask on the phone when making the appointment for him to verify they have the TSB parts in stock. The last time was for the seat fix they did not have the second time and for the compression. Show up for my appointment the only thing he has down is a $54.00 dollar oil change.

You guys should deal with Heri (Harry).
Even though my sedan has been in there MULTIPLE times to fix the SAME rattles, pulling right, flickering display lights, etc., he is always courteous and really tries to get it right. He even kept my car (when I was picking it up, no less), to continue to perform work on it when he learned one of the other service assistants fed me the line of "all the seats are that way" BS. He made sure the proper fix was done and it did the trick.
So, in terms of a service guy, see Heri. Not sure I can completely endorse the actually techs, though...

Re: Tustin Infiniti: Repairs w/ mods

2 things:

1. oil changes at costa mesa infiniti are $30.99, incl car wash, and vaccuum. if you make an appt, then your car will take like 20-30 min tops, its not that much further than tustin, and there's a "crack in the box" and a "kfc" across the street. i wonder why dealerships charge differently...
2. you could probably get the first oil change for free. i just emailed the internet sales ppl (or whoever sold you your car)and told them that longo lexus and keyes audi provides this for their customers (which is true) and i was wondering if my dealership did the same. needless to say, my first oil change was complimentary. (it's the chinese in me, have to haggle at every chance i get.)

hope this helps..
