LED Lighting

My friend and I are working on some interior LED lighting for our G's. I will have the prototypes in my car. It will be available in most colors, primarily hyper white. There are 3 LED's used to replace each factory dome lamp. In the Sedan there are 6 dome lamps total. We will be charging $30 per each dome lamp with a fixture exchange. Or a complete set (2 rear, 2 front door, and 2 front over head consule) for $150 with exchange. Sets will also be available for Coupes and 350Z's.

Re: LED Lighting

I am installing Varad's LEDs for mood lighting and have been looking for festoon based LEDs (in amber) for the front door lowers. Haven't looked at the maps or upper courtesy lights to see what bulbs they are.

Are your including a whole new housing? Why wouldn't we just look for aftermarket LED in wedges or festoons?

Just curious....let me know what you've got in amber (orange)

cheers,
-ted

Re: LED Lighting

We have found the festoons and wedges from our source and will supply those for the cheaper croud. Those would be a direct fit replacement style bulb. The LED's we are developing are 1100 candela each, 3 wired in series, with a 20 degree light spread. It is completely rewired and soddered into the factory housing.

I'm interested too!
I was actually out looking for some moodlights this weekend with no luck.

I have a sedan so if you're doing a group buy, please email me or PM me right away!

Thanks in advance.

Re: LED Lighting

GYAL8R - the lights Kawika is working on are replacements for the OEM map, door and courtesy lights.

Moodlights are add-ons to the footwells, trunk, under seats, door handles etc.... I used Varad LEDs and did the moodlights myself. You can buy the OEM under-dash moodlights for about $100, or do your underdash, back seats, trunk, and engine for under $40 and still have LEDs left over!

Put individual LEDs in a chain....Power + to LED1 + then LED1 - to LED2 + then LED2 - to Power -.

The tubes do not work like that, so you just join them using connectors and going straight to the POS or NEG power. These Varad LEDS have the necessary resistors...they are truly plug and play!

Varad 4-pack of Single LEDs (ILKs)

I used 2 LEDs in each front footwell, 1 under each front seat firing backwards to the rear seat. These are wired to the back of the driver's cigarette lighter.

I then installed 2 six inch LED bars for the trunk, wired into the trunk dome light so they light up when you open the trunk.

Varad Light Bars

I don't have any pixes of the trunk yet, but here are some shots of the front and back seats

Cheers, ted
