Fix it -- Ticket?

I guess I've been lucky, but I've never gotten a Fix It ticket. I was wondering if some here in Cali could tell me how they work. Like if I get one for no front plate do I just pay the $120(or whatever) and that's it - keep drive without one, or do I have to also prove that I fixed it somehow?
What about tints in this regaurd? Do I have to get the tint removed or just pay some fine and keep on rollin'?
And, how much are the fines in these cases?

Re: Fix it -- Ticket?

i got my fix-it ticket about 3 years ago.. cop pulled me over for hyper whites in clear corners for both my front and rear sidemarkers.. in order to get it cleared, i had to go down to my local police department and showed them that i had put back the orange reflector and red reflector in the back along with the clear bulbs.. they then signed off on it and i paid a $10 processing fee i believe.. that's it..

i'm not sure if things have changed, but i kno in some cases where the officer will forego giving you a fix-it and can actualli give u a real ticket for certain violations (e.g. tint, exhaust, etc.) there's also been a case where the officer made the person peel off the tint at that very moment he was pulled over..

realli, it depends on how **** the popo you're dealing with is..

I got a parking ticket for no front plate, it was $35. This was the City of LA. In order to fix it, I took photos of the front and rear plates installed, and sent them in. It only cost $10 after showing proof of correction (photos).

I got front plate tickets too. I just put them on took it to the DMV, then got it stamped, went to court, paid 10 bucks and got out. After that I took the front plate off again and kept rolling.

Re: Fix it -- Ticket?

So do you have to pay the ticket, plus the processing and getting it cleared, or is it that you pay the processing and the ticket is cleared (meaning you don't have to pay) if you prove that you fixed whatever is wrong?

If that is so and it is around $35 or so, I will probably remove my front license plate since it really destroys the look of the car.

The $35 is when a parking officer issues the ticket. You just pay that fine. But if a real cop gives one to you, you get it fixed and pay a processing fee. Otherwise you pay a big fine like $100 for a stupid license plate.
