I'm going to go out to Arizona this month. I'll be visiting Scottsdale and but I think I want to stay in a hotel in Pheonix, because I assume that's where all the fun is at, in Phoenix? I'm looking for a hotel that's close to the action - bars, nightclubs, restaurants, all that. I'm coming out to party, and to take a helicopter/airplane tour of the Grand Canyon.
Do you guys have any recommendations of a hotel that's in a good location? Something middle of the road in terms of price - I just want a good location and something halfway decent. I'll have a rental car, so driving isn't going to be an issue if it's a few miles away from downtown. I'm open to all suggestions.

I am also looking for G35Drivers who might want to hook up while I'm there. I'll be in town from April 19th to the 25th. Are there any meets or events planned during that time? Triji, are you going to be around? I want to see your ride man! I love it.

I am going to book flights, car, and hotel today or tomorrow, so your immediate advice is appreciated. This is a spur-of-the-moment kind of trip.

 

I know it's Easter and all, but can someone tell me where most of the bars are located? Downtown? Central Phoenix? North Phoenix? Scottsdale? Mesa? Tempe? I just want to pick a hotel close to the action. Where are the hot night spots?

I should be able to be around in that time frame. I have my daughter most of that time but may be able to come out and visit.

The best place to stay is Scottsdale. The old town area has a lot of clubs.

I live up on the north side of Phoenix about 20 miles from where you will be wanting to stay.

 

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll grab a spot in Scottsdale. My aunt lives in Scottsdale, across the street from the Orange Tree Golf Resort, according to Google Maps. She's too old to know where the hotspots are, so I really needed your advice. haha!

Triji, I plan on being out there on Thursday the 19th, and leaving late on Wednesday the 25th...meaning I'll be around for full weekend for all the action, plus a couple of extra days to let me do the requisite tourist stuff.
Have you guys ever take a helicopter/airplane tour of the Grand Canyon? I was going to drive up to Grand Canyon airport to catch a tour for $350. Looks amazing.

oh yea i also drove the G up there. 24mpg going 75-85 on cruise control for 400 miles.

 

Sweet! I'm jealous. I'd love to take my G, but it would take me at least 4-5 days just to drive out there from Boston. Just checked the forecast...it's 85 Degrees out there? Nice! Beats the 45 degrees we have out here. I guess I should bring some shorts!

 

It will easily be in the 90's when you get here so pack accordingly.

The Grand Canyon is awesome if you have not been there before. Also check out the new glass bottom walk way where you can actually walk out over the canyon and look waaaaaay down... 4,000 feet, thats a looong way...

Oh, and speaking of strip clubs... Babes Caberet is the club that Jenna Jameson now owns.

A nice club in Scotts is Barelona as well. It is right behind one of my stores... Barcelona is where all the rich horney single / divorced women hang out

None of these are really any good. If you are looking for clubs, go to E4 (the hottest spot in phx right now) or six (which many don't know about but it is very high class and you have all of the really hot, and really loaded ASU girls there). If you are into the bars, scottsdale has tons. You really can't go wrong. I would say the most popular places in phx would be The Sand Bar, Dos Gringos, McGinty's (my favorite - there is an enormous one in Tucson), The Library, etc. Phx has a really good bar and night life scene. You should have pleanty of fun.

 

Thanks for all of your advice guys! It really helped with my planning. Tonight I booked the flights, hotels, and car.

This is my itinerary...I'll be doing everything alone, unless you guys wanna join up with me. I plan on going to dinner and then bar hopping every single night, so if you guys are down to have a little fun and show me where the loose women are, let's go! lol

Wed 18th - Arrive in Phoenix (Hotel in Scottsdale through Mon 23rd)
Mon 23rd - Drive to Flagstaff and stay overnight
Tues 24th - Tour the Grand Canyon, drive to Kingman and stay overnight
Wed 25th - Visit the Skywalk (thanks for the tip, Triji!!!), then drive to Lake Havasu City and stay the night
Thurs 26th - Chill in Havasu, drive back to Phoenix and check into hotel until I leave on Monday the 30th.

Sooo...if you guys are around those cities on any of those days, PM me and maybe we can hook up.
