Places to shoot a car vid. Like an abandoned airport, shipyard, any abandoned wide open area where we ca do some cool stuff and not bother anyone? I want to know cuz I am planning a G video which will be very cool. Also the location would be best if its not too far from LA. Thanks in advance.

Hey Rob...I cannot think of anything like that close to you. Perhaps you could use a place that is really busy during the week and empty on the weekends. Some companies or business parks have a lot of empty asphalt on saturday and sunday. Just a thought.

who knows...maybe with a few $$ El Toro will let you on base to tear up the runway? Probably a few forms to fill out, though.

Otherwise, I'm thinking a lot of quick "stop and shoots" that you will have to edit together. Sounds like what you have in mind will bring the cops running!

Funny you say that Ted... Last sunday after a long weekend away in Vegas (one night) My friends girlfriend wanted to see my donut skills... Being the Krazy one I am, I decide it would be cool to do it in the parking lot where we were meeting for dinner, before dinner... needless to say our dinner service sucked and there were 6 cop cars parked outside the restraunt upon our departure... one a K-9 unit parked right next to my car... I figured for sure I'm in jail this time... So I hand the keys to my friend and let him drive me out... One of the cars followed for a bit but they had nothing on me since they didn't catch me in the act... whew!.. I think I got lucky that time... LOL!

For those who care. I drive a Silver Sedan 6MT CA license plate "KRZ HAYN" = "Krazy Hawaiian". A "Shaka" is always welcome.

 

There are a few really empty stretches of road out a few miles past Lancaster. Not really good for parking lot type stuff though.

Used to be places like that out in Rancho and up in Valencia maybe about 10 years ago, but no longer.

 

there is the Van Nuys Airport. Well actually its next to it. Its off Balboa Blvd. I know some guys a while back did some stuff there. I can find out and let you know. But no matter what let us know where your going to be filming.

rob,how about ontario international airport's run way.that's be cool ehhhh, j/k bro.ok,if you going 60w from puente hills mall,get off hacienda make a right,heading north to valley blvd make a left,at the first light (forgot the street name) make a left about 300/400 yard you'll see a parking lot on the right.it's fairly big and remote.check it out.what ever you going to do,plan to do it quick,cus i think police station is about 2 miles away [img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img] and yes,plz post viz even if you being chase by cops (another joke)...

 

LOL TINMAN. Ill make sure to post the vid of the chase. But I will tell the cops I have to edit it, add some music and post on Gdriver.com before you take me to jail. LOL. Ya that place is kinda close to a da POLICE. I will try to find a place to shoot a vid thogh. Its kinda hard finding such a remote wide open place that is paved. One thought I had was to a remote stretch of road in Nevada or Death Valley I am sure there are no cops there.

man, myself and r1cky ride motorcycles, and we go out to far places alot, so we will see what we can do, I know if you go behind the mountain, like if you take 138 hwy, you can run wide open, we have hit at least 170 mph on our bikes, and if you go to the back side of the crest its drag racing for your pleasure, also we go thru palmdesert, towords palmsprings. check out those areas, other than that I guess we can try some where by STILLEN, ya know industrial. I'll see what I can think of for you, but you might have to drive!

 

Sure thats no prob. Like I said I am willing to go nevada or Death Valley I bet there are some cool roads here.
