A few of us in the North San Diego (Temecula) area are planning on taking a ride on 1-31-04. We will be starting from the Pechange Indian Casino on Pechangea Blvd in Temecula. We are planning on meeting up at around 10:00 am. The route isn't set yet so the suggestions so far have been to go to Idyllwild. Either post here or send me a PM so we get an idea of who will be attending.

For those that aren't familiar with Temecula, the meeting point is located 3 exits south of where the 215 and the 15 Fwy meet.

From the I-15 Fwy:
Take the CA-79 S exit toward TEMECULA/INDIO.
Turn SHARP RIGHT onto CA-79.
Turn RIGHT onto PECHANGA PKWY
Turn LEFT onto MUIRFIELD DR.
End at 45000 PECHANGA PKWY TEMECULA CA

Isn't the street sign changed now at the corner of Pala and 79 South. I believe it now reads Pechanga Parkway. Pechanga has dumped enough money into Temecula they at least should have their own Parkway.

 

Count me in for the 31st! Pechanga should be easy for everyone to find so, I think it's a great idea to meet there. I'll be looking forward to it!

Yeah, I like Ortega too. I was just on it with my G35 on Monday - drove to Lake Elsinore and back near dusk. Fun to drive road, but it is heavily traveled, especially on the weekends, and there's quite a few cops on it with nasty speed traps around blind corners. Its also a double fine road, which is nasty if you get a ticket.

If you pick up 74 again East of I-215, it takes you all the way to Palm Desert, and there's a section near the end that is really a blast to drive with some wild S-turns and corksrews.

The casino is a big place what part of it are we meeting at? the gas station?

 

As you get to the casino the gas station is at the far end of the casino. Kind of where the old tent and casino use to be. It is one of the last things you pass at the casino. It's past the the main entrance. You can't miss it. If you do just ask someone there.

If you're planning on a "spirited" romp then I'll suggest that she stay at home but if you're planning on a more "leisurely" pace then she wouldn't mind riding...

 

I agree with Mike. Mike and I followed Jason and 3 others last month on the "manic" cruise at the big LA meet. I bet if my girlfriend was sitting next to me, she would have yelled "SLOW DOWN" countless times throughout the cruise [img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img] .
