I was just in Julian last weekend with a Corvette group. I forgot the roads we were on, but it went through the heavily fire damaged areas around Julian. The roads were a lot of fun, but the fire damage was amazing (nothing left but burnt stumps and ash). Unfortunately, there was tons of debris on the roadway including patches of dirt, sand, rocks, gravel, ash, you name it. Paint chip city.

Just a suggestion to avoid that area unless you have a car bra. I don't, so if we do go that route, I'm gonna hang way back so my car doesn't get sandblasted by the car in front of me. I got enough rock chips as it is with this soft paint.

So do we have a route and meeting time/place confirmed?

Meeting time and place are as always. Just need to nail down a route. Why don't we just head up to Idywild and cruise that area. Lets lock it in on Sat., they are both fun, and about the same distance from Temecula. See yall at 10:00 a.m., Pechanga gas station.

I've tracked my Z06 there last October, and had a blast. Would like to try the G35 there next (especially since I need new tires for the Z06 before another track event).

Cool - yeah, I will try to make Willow on 5/19. I won't be able to register until like a few weeks before the event, because I am in the middle of a job search and possible relocation, and can't plan that far ahead yet. But I will definitely try to go, and I think there's a good chance I'll be able to.

How was the traffic? You guys get stuck behind a Hyundai, mini-van or haytruck for 20 miles or did you get a chance to open 'em up a bit?

Sorry I missed the drive. I love that drive to Idyllwild. I bought some EBC Green Stuff brake pads almost 3 months ago and finally decided to install them the night before the drive. When I went out to "bed" them they felt a little weaker than I expected so I didn't want to take them on any challenging drives yet. I figure that they're going to need a couple more days to bed properly.
