OK this was my first race ever in the G. I see another coupe in my rear view coming out of a lot in Del Mar. We exchange a few words at a stop light I was admiring his nice wheels some sort of Maya Mesh wheels. He was checking out my new shoes. Bla Bla Bla... We were both headed to La Jolla Via PCH/Torrey Pines. We get to a light on TP and I was kind of confused as to if he wanted to race or not. He launched I launched maybe 1/4 behind him but he started pulling away. We hit 90 and I got nervous cause tons of cops hang out on that road. End result he took me by about 1.5 car lengths by the time I backed off. It looked like he was driving an auto. My ego was a little bruised since I had just installed my Z-Tube and Pop Charger a few hours prior AND My wife was in the car giving me a little crap about losing to a guy in an auto. Ethier I can't drive (i thought I could) or he had some serious stuff under the hood. Guess I'll never know unless he reads my post. I DEMAND A REMATCH!!! LOL!!!

Did the other guy have OEM wheels? 17 or 18s? It may be the reason why you lost.

hey it happens. MY friend has an auto and it is quick. we raced a while back b4. I think i had an exhaust and intake, he was stock. We were neck and neck. It is easier to drive the auto fast cause u just slam it down.
I must admit i cant launch this car. only tried a few times. i spin through 1st and 2nd.... sometimes i chirp in 3rd... however the 1st and 2nd are killing me.
Now i have done my other mods and with these expensive tires i dont wanna waste the rubber.
I did it once, even with the massive amount of additional rubber i peeled out like crazy.... i wasnt reving very high either.
i hear u have to dump it really low like 2500.

Thought of that but you know... She IS on the thin side but you're right an extra body is an extra body. A pair of Ds has to add at least .25 sec to my 0-60 time right? He He He

Do you turn off VDC when you race?
I have an auto & have yet to race anyone.

No did not turn of the VDC. I probablly should have. Specially now that I have great grip with the 275s in the rear. I LOVE my new Good Years.
