California requires it, but i don't know about NV.

Don't cry if you get caught, but you should get a feel for if you can get by w/o one. They are required in OHIO and you can get pulled over for not having one, but no one cares and you only get in trouble if you get stopped for something else.

G looks better w/o one so, who cares about the Law!

I drove my other car for 9 yrs. without a front plate in Calif. and was stopped once. I put one on to sign off the fix-it ticket and took it back off. I haven't had one on my G for over a yr. in Cali and have had no problem so far.

In all states you can drive without the plate on the front as long as you have it on your dashboard facing the front window. My brother has been pulled over before and the cop said its fine...

 

Actually, I asked a Cop here in MD, and the guy said it still isn't legal...

 

Never put front plate and so far no problem.

not exactly true. here in hawaii the front plate is required. however, some cops will let the plate on the dashboard slide. i just got a $55 ticket this past sunday for it!

 

Two States that I have lived in...
Illinois - Required
North Carolina - Not Required (State onlys issues one)

 

Nevada does require it, but I haven't met a metro cop that enforces that law yet. NHP did pull over my ex once and give her a fix it ticket for it though.

Edit: They didn't pull her over specifically for the front plate. She was doing 65 in a 45.

It is illegal to operate a car without a front license plate in CA. Although I have driven about 10 years (SF Bay Area) without one and never been pulled over. But it's a great excuse to pull you over if a cop feels the need.

 

I got a parking ticket in the San Fernando Valley last month for having no no front plates. $25 fine.

i have been pulled over 4 times and they let me go and i didnt have my front license plate on ..

 

Meter maids love giving tickets for them.
