OC/LA/Torrance Meet
Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
We have to face the fact that we are never going to find a location to make Everybody happy. LA is just too big. Being in Torrance, I have no problem with a meet from West LA/Southbay to OC, but I don't like driving to the valley (weekend traffic to the valley sucks) and I wouldn't blame any valley folks for not wanting to drive over the hill to OC or west LA/south bay areas. I do think it is easier to find a place to meet in OC (larger parking lots with plenty of parking).
Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
Hosting the meet last time in Long Beach, the meet before that in Torrance, I think it is fair that we have the next MEET in the THE VALLEY.
The weather is actually great out here and there are plenty of parks for great pictures, including Balboa Lake & Park. Then from there we can cruise ventura blvd. up towards hollywood and a canyon run then right back to the park.
I can coordinate the drive and event if people are interested. Let me know!

Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
I am a bit confused on who is interested in this G35 meet. From the many posts, there seems to be around 15 individuals interested in a meet, but there have only been 6 votes on the location poll.
I do want to come to a decision on the location in a way to satisfy the majority (which according to the location poll is living in OC), but I also want the Valley folks involved.
Here is the decision I have come to:
1) Everyone SERIOUSLY interested in joining our G35 meet regardless of location please private message me your first name (and last if you want); your location; locations you would not mind meeting in; and a phone number I can reach you at (leaving me your number shows me how serious you really are about meeting and it’s a number I can reach you at on the day of the meet if there are any last minute changes.)
After I have received your responses, I will post who is coming and the overall results of which location has been voted upon.
2) I am guessing ahead of time (prior to tallying up the private message results on most desired location) that the majority of us are located around OC, including myself. If this is what the results turns out to be, then I would have to go with the majority and schedule a meet somewhere in OC. Now, the folks in the valley can meet together close to their location and caravan together to the OC meet. WICKEDG35, would you then mind coordinating the valley meet that will caravan to the actual OC meet?
I know this is all a bit confusing, but if you have any questions just call me on my cell. The number to it is (949) 235-5506.
I hope this clarifies the confusion.

Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
Wendy good job on taking the initiative to get things going.
There's nothing confusing or difficult about setting up a meet. It's simple actually, the only thing is picking out a nice spot to have our cars parked, and then plan afterwards.
There are only a very few way out in the valley, all they have to do it plan their mini caravan to meet the rest of us. Very simple.
I know some very nice meeting spots in OC as well, if you want to do the Beach or Starbucks, or food stop meet, whatever, I even know of a nice college campus... I'd still prefer a meeting spot at a food place so we can meet & eat then cruise from there.
Whatever is official, just post a new thread and label it something like "OFFICIAL SO. CAL/LA/OC MEET" or whatever to get everyones attention.

Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
I have already gotten a couple PM's of people preferring the meet in the valley.. The valley meet is guaranteed some members already. As for the date, Sat. May 31st I will be working but can create a 5:30 shift. So is 12:00-12:30 a good time for ya'll?

Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
wickedG35, let me know if your Valley meet wants to end up meeting with the OC meet.
I have started a new thread on those interested in attending the OC Meet.

Wicked, I'm in with you bro. PM me, and we coordinate something. Shoot, I would like to meet up with all the Valley reps, and lets all go to the OC meet.

Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
I commend you Valley folks who are staying committed to come down to the OC meet, which was the original plan for all of the G's to come together and meet as friends. The seperate Valley meet on the same day is absurd!
Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
no flame intended, but why is it absurd when not a single oc person will commit to meeting in the valley?
i've only been on the board since the beginning of the year, but of the 5 meets that i've heard of they were: 2 in oc, 2 in torrance, and a mini meet in glendale. now we are having a 3rd meet in oc. doesn't seem like a meet is ever gonna happen in the valley, so if i was a valley dude, i'd organize my own meet.
p.s. i live neither in the valley, oc or south bay.

Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
There is nothing "absurd" about having a valley meeting.. only on the same day as the OC meet. Why? because unlike you, some Valley people may be inclined to drive down to the OC meet. Why not have your Valley meet on another weekend?
Re: OC/LA/Torrance Meet
1. It's not my Valley meet.
2. I never stated I was or was not going to meet on the 31st.
3. If meeting on the 31st is good for people that prefer to meet in the Valley, why is that absurd? It works for them, so I see no reason why they shouldn't meet.
4. If you live in the Valley and choose to drive to OC, then do so. Just don't go telling other people not to meet if they choose to do so.
5. A canyon run in the Valley sounds way more interesting than being surrounded by the kiddies at The Block, frankly.

g35doman:
1. If you're not going, then why even bother bitchin'.
2. No one is telling anyone where to go or not go.
3. Your personal preference and your opinion is only your darn opinion, keep it to yourself, especially if you don't plan on attending.
4. With such an unfriendly attitude, what will someone like you bring to the meets? nothing to offer but complaints...
5. Like I sad before, it is difficult to make veryone happy, a meet is a meet, the location of it has nothing to do with what's fair for others or what not.
