I've been driving my 2007 Journey for about 2 weeks now and I've noticed that the Goodyear RS-A tires that came on the car are rather loud when driving on Calif. freeways. Especially on the ribbed concrete. The asphalt isn't too bad.

Can someone recommend a quieter 225/55/17 performance tire? Also how much wider can I go without rubbing a wheel well on a u turn?

Thanks,
Bruce in L.A.

I don't have them on my G yet, but I had them on my Acura and Honda before this and LOVE these tires, the Bridgestone Turanza LS-V not the cheapest tire but they are the best quiet riding/touring type tire I have ever used. They really changed the way the Acura and Honda handled, road noise and they even held up well. Bridgestone also offers a 30 day buy and try so if you don't like them you can trade them back in for something else - its a win win situation. I would really like to get a set for my car in spring

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tires Are Awesome!
I had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires on my 2004 Acura TL. They are pricey, but they are really great tires. They offer excellent traction on dry or wet pavement. (never drove them in snow or ice).

I had two sets on my TL. The first set lasted for 40K miles. The second set had about 10K miles on them when I traded it in on my G35S. In between I had the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S on the TL. They only lasted a year (23K miles), so I wouldn't recommend them.

I have these on my Civic, I can take some nice turns at speeds that some wouldn't think about with a Civ, great traction, might even get them on the G if I don't get the sport model.
